Audioblazer, the Contriva review in Audiobeat used Audio Research Ref.110, and Lamm M1.2 Ref.monos. Both put out around same 110watts into 8/4ohms--I think..
Variations in how your system sounds?
"I would describe it as a slight lack of focus and dynamics.* This has happened through many changes of all components."I've had similar issue in the past. Check your incoming ac voltage, usually a drop would result as such*. Whereas, an increase ...
How do you know when to replace a tube?
I'd first check the tubes biases whether all are still holding up to minimum factory recommended. Then also your AC voltage, fluctuations/instability of which could lead to the change in sound you described--hence, a stabilizer may be all you need.
Revel Salon2 vs Wilson Sasha
I think it will (yet again) essentially boils down to careful system matching.Earlier this year, I accompanied my brother to rebuild his system. I got him to use my out-going Magico V3, but after 2months, he just wasn't too happy with the result, ...
Magico Q3's at Goodwin's High End
Razmika, agree that buyer/seller have to be in a mutually benefiting relationship in order to persevere. The pricing issue I brought up, since it relates as to how their initial selling price was yet again increased--just months after released.The...
Magico Q3's at Goodwin's High End
This thread is about Magico, let's leave it at that. I'm just raising one concern as a 'consumer', and that I have no problem whatsoever with their pricing/value which I think is way cool--having a new product which killed the previous flagship at...
Magico Q3's at Goodwin's High End
An educated and wise buyer would aim for both.

Btw.I also tend to think that their current Q offerings, relative to performance, have far better value than that of their previous.

Razmika, fully understood your point. But it has been re-curring and one which I have personally faced myself three times. First, the M6, which I ended up not buying.. Was initially quoted by the dealer priced south of $90k, got back 2months later...

Bostonbean,I was seriously holding my breath, crossing fingers with sincere hope (knowing taste, mileage etc.could vary) that you will 'get it' too! You got me momentarily worried there held as being partly responsible with the choice. :pYes, I re...

Congrats Bostonbean!Let it run a bit, mine still continue to improve even after six months.. Around 600hrs. The sound became fuller yet tighter, improved resolution yet more relaxed at the same time.. Amazing!Enjoy yours,

Keith, in all fairness, I think we have to look at it both ways. Magico might be the better value for U.S consumers, likewise, the Tidal for those residing in Europe (Countries of origin). But for us in countries whereby both these products are eq...
Magico Q3's at Goodwin's High End
For long time followers of Magico, these post reviews increments shouldn't be much of a surprise anymore. Been happening ever since their original M6 days, Mini1 & 2, V3.. I have voiced this concern to my dealer and over at one of JV's site in...
q3 magico
;)) Guys, give it a rest.. I think they both are genuine and gallant efforts by two very competent manufacturers in the industry. We hear/buy what we like, no need to trash on other people's choice or preferences. Opinions are just that.It is the ...

FWIW. When I had my V3, it was actually the Piano Cera which prompted me to order the Contriva. If anything, it was the previous Magicos I owned that had that faint scrim mentioned. An ever present lingering haze to their upper bass through mid wh...
