Synergistic Red Fuse ...
I've got a pair of Reds in the mail for my Coincident Frankensteins.  Needless to say, I'm curious.  Still on the look out for any usesd 1A slow-blows for my DAC if anyone wants to sell theirs...- Chris
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
Thanks for the correction David. As you point out, it appears I'm lumping anyone using the term quantum into a single sales category.  That makes me feel better about the fuses.
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
Well, despite my utter disbelief in this company's "quantum chips", I'm ready to bite the bullet on their fuses... too much universal praise in here for it to be wrong.  Anyone who upgraded to Blacks want to get rid of some Reds?  I need four sl...
Thought on OTL tube amps
Thanks for posting Al.  I should just start reading every post of yours so that I continue learning the science behind the music.
McIntosh MC601 vs Pass Labs XA 100.8 (or 160.8)
Not a great data point for you, but I compared Mac (MC402) and Pass (XA-30.5) products much further down the line and felt the Pass was better in every way possible.  I've seen some people go the other way with a very similar comparison though.  S...
PS Audio DirectStream with Bridge II - FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!
Two questions.  Is there a way to stream other services to the Bridge II, I've been using Rhapsody for years?  Also, can you stream computer audio to the Bridge II as if it were a standard soundcard?  Thanks folks.- Chris
Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes
Well, that bodes well for the end results of Charles' cathode resistor modification experiment, which was explicitly suggested to decrease a surge in voltage at power-up.  Hopefully that does indeed fix Elrog reliability problem... I guess we'll k...
ps audio pwd mkii preamp break in time?
Just a note of caution because of the DSD recommendation.  I had a PWDII and swtiched to the DSD and it actually didn't have enough gain for me.  I had to run it in the high gain mode to get close to enough volume and could still top it out somewh...
Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes
Good luck Charles, I'm cheering for you.
New Gallo Strada 2's - need surround advice.
Tough time of year to sell gear in my experience.  You might consider just waiting to put them up until spring, otherwise everyone who's interested now but doesn't have money because of holiday expenses (and upcoming tax season) will think somethi...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
I trust Charles' ears and may try these fuses, but this company's quantum chips simply have to be a placebo (and make me distrust them more generally).  They make big ones to slap on the sides of your speaker cabinets for god's sake.  Only $130 a ...
Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes
God, I know Charles.  I bought them on 01/13/15.  Time goes too quickly.
Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes
I'm only about a year in, but I have not yet had any tube failures on my pair of Franks (and continue to love them).- Chris
Advice on using a laser for speaker positioning
I have a laser and really like it. It's not perfect, but infinitely useful. Assuming you've spent thousands on a system, another $50-$100 for a laser measure seemed like a good investment for me. Plus it comes in handy for all the things it was ac...
Recommend half-width transport
I've never heard it, and it's aging, but the Musical Fidelity X-Ray CD player fits your size and price (used) requirements and gets good reviews.http://www.stereophile.com/cdplayers/1204mf/#Ai0MikbQ6oGeZ1Z3.97
