How big should center spkr be to set to "large"?
I have a center that specs down into the 30hz range and it is a stretch but I do like it better at 60hz than at 80hz, very few will actually spec at full range, even fewer can honestly acheive it.

Outdoor speaker recommendations
I have JBL outdoor speakers wich come with mounting brackets and like them alot...why go crazy? Everything sounds good when out and hanging with friends IMO The JBL's I think are $200 per pair. 
Crossover Help
Rotel would work, it is adjustable to 150hz and very versital, each speaker not only has cross-over but also bass and treble adjustments. 
Music out there with good bass
Classical Telarc disc's are known for great bass I have maybe five and like them all. 
SME 20/2 SME V or Triplanar VII?
I think the SME is a pretty amazing arm, it sounds great on my friends SOTA and after all the arms he has had he cant sAy enough good things about it. FWIW 
When showing your system to others, what do you do
Alot of times I will play Fleetwood Mac Roumors....it is so universal and well known, atleast in my circles, but if someoone appreciates Classical, thats where the jaw can drop, while I want them to bring a CD of their own, it has a really good ch...

Analog is no more real then digital. They are both reproductions...the only "real" is live music.

ok so if you really feel that you could get great analog, table, tone arm, phono stage, cartridge all for the same investment it would take to get a pretty good digital wich can be had for a grand or so, then you know something I dont.

Like anything else here it will boil down to do you feel it WILL help, you may not hear a diffrence and it certainly wont be night and day....but maybe you will hear a better sound, or atleast think you do. I know guys that use Sony DVD players as...

It takes so much more investment to get great Analog then it does to get a great digital, alot of folks fall out of vinyl for this very reason phono stage and re-wire may do the trick.

I never turn SS equipment off, tubes ofcourse are diffrent, unless I am away for days, everything stays on.
