| B&W 801D or 802Ds No, I haven't found a pair of 801Ds. There's some 802Ds here and on Ebay, but I'm a little short at the moment. | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds Ok, cool. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Sounds like a great setup. Yes, you've helped. | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds Thanks, Mr_m for sharing your experience. I have no problem with distance from the side walls...the back wall distance gets a little problematic, but I plan on getting some Sonex for that. What are your components and cables? | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds Thanks! Much appreciated! | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds Cool, thanks for the info. Congrats on the 800 Diamonds. That's one Hell of a speaker. | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds Good point. Perhaps I should lean towards the 802Ds. | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds My current speakers (JBL L890s) work fine in my room. They have 2 8 inch woofers per side. I can see the 801Ds not working, but I don't see why the 802Ds wouldn't work. No way am I getting small speakers. Sorry about that. | |
| Bryston integrated or separates Definitely get the 4B with any of the Bryston preamps. Preferably the BP26. | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds Oh and my room isn't too big. 16'x14' | |
| B&W 801D or 802Ds Hmm...sounds like the 801Ds are the better choice. I agree that they're harder to drive, and that would require more power than what I've got on hand (300W into 8 Ohms, 500 into 4 Ohms) I'll either go with Bryston, Pass Labs, or something else alt... | |
| Las Vegas Nothing yet, eh? | |
| Speakers for Bryston PMC is very expensive here in the US. It's not really a good value, imo. | |
| Las Vegas Sounds good. Let's get this club rollin'! | |
| Best solid state amp for B&W 801 Matrix Series 2 Soundlock: Thanks for the suggestion. The amp looks good, and the price is right. So, I just may try it out. | |
| Best solid state amp for B&W 801 Matrix Series 2 I did actually. It was matched to Apogee Stage speakers. Noth the speakers and the amp shut down and the tweeters blew.True, but I wanted to know if the Bryston 14BSST2 has enough muscle to drive the 801s. It's not a cheap amp (to me anyway,) even... |
