The great Phil Woods has passed.
Will find time to hear Floresta Canto this weekend to honor Mr. Phil Woods

What is your favorite 1 hit wonder from the 70's?
Roxy54-Not a problem, appreciate your input!
What is your favorite 1 hit wonder from the 70's?
Donnie Iris-"Leah" peaked at #29(Billboard) in 1980. "Love is Like a Rock" hit #37 in 1981. Dobie Grey had a 1965 #13 hit "The In-Crowd" and another Top 40 song "You Can Do It" in 1979. FWIW- "Black Betty" does qualify as a true 1970's 1-hit wonder.
It Was 40 Years Ago Today...
Bdp24-Great post. I would like to add and simplify, regarding your comments. Dylan and the Beatles created/influenced the singer songwriter genre. The Kinks/Steppenwolf/Blue Cheer helped create "arena rock". The Who/The Doors/The Animals/Pink Floy...
HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
As I stated in a earlier post why the(respected) reviewers never mentioned Hegel was made in China? Maybe I'm living in an "Audio Utopia" but I always thought audio reviewers were on our side?
What is your favorite 1 hit wonder from the 70's?
"Drift Away" and "Black Betty" are good choices but(IMO) don't enter my top ten. Gerry Rafferty had a mega #2 Billboard hit "Baker Street" in case you forgot? "Feelings" not a bad choice(don't like song)but have no problem with it being a top ten ...
It Was 40 Years Ago Today...
Whatthe-IMO a major issue with Springsteen is his (outdated?) blue-collar marketing image which some still put to much emphasis on. A mega millionaire is still capable of writing great songs about the down and out.
It Was 40 Years Ago Today...
The River might be the equal of Born To Run? Point Blank is one of his best!
Songs that Inspire or Move you
Too many to list! Here are 2 songs that I just recently "spun" that are completely at opposite ends of the spectrum.Don McLean-The GraveChuck Mangione-Land of Make Believe(Esther Satterfield)
Snobbiest audio websites
Believe it or not IMO the snob factor is disappearing in HEA. In the past 5 years after the great recession(2007-10) the mega-buck guys(100k+ systems) that remain are in HEA more for the music then bragging rights. To answer the question... I woul...
HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
Knghifi-My point is IF Opera Audio(Consonance)is making the Hegel gear they can build very good sounding products. The problem is they(Hegel) are over priced when considering other competing Chinese made gear. The deception comes from the spartan ...
HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
Hegel might be a bunch of greedy business men that "hang a shingle" in Norway and are able to have(Opera Audio?) build good sounding but inferior/over priced gear! What upsets me is the HEA media has been a lap dog for Hegel for the last 5 years? ...
Clayton Audio - Alive and very well
Audiobrian-Thx for the info! The S40/S100 is now on a short list of possible amp upgrades.
HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
If Hegel is made in China why not consider Audio-gd? Hegel should be proud to slap on a made in PRC sticker! Not so fast... then they would need to lower the price by 50% and try to convince us there not on the same assembly/parts line as Emotiva(...
