Hall of Shame
Milo, do you find this true also with MIT's latest and more expensive offerings, or do you refer to their wires of about 8-12 years ago? If that's the case I aggree with you wholeheartedly. I use their newer stuff with Spectral gear and Plasma twe...
Hall of Shame
I find the FM Accoustics gear madly overpriced, the Gryphon amps, except for the Reference monos musically uninvolving, the Martin Logan CLS harsh and twangy in the highs, most of the Levinson amps..see under Gryphon, but I do like MIT!De gustibus...
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
True, true Greg, well it was through the Goldmund and also through the souped up Sony 777 and indeed, as you suggest, this experiment stopped me from pleasing my dealer!Cheers,
Hovland Cable plugs
For Verdi's mass, Greg, I still like Reiner best, and begosh,CFB, he was anything but balanced with the CSO, but rather heavily single ended in throwing his weight about!
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
I have an old Threshold Stasis amp from the mid seventies, which at that time set me back less than three thousand bucks new! I took it up from the basement and connected a pair of Quads to it through inexpensive wires and an old Krell KBL from th...

Servo-Static, Stax F-91, Quads, Sound Labs.
My system has just received the ultimate insult
PM, before following Cornfed's excellent advice (is he doing divorce cases as well?!) I'd have the lady's ears tested. Maybe she can hear like a bat and you DO have static above 20khz. If the test turns out positive, ask her, if she has relatives ...
What is the name of your system.
I call it "the Golem", a dealer friend called it a "wierd ass system" and it is.
Another Virus Outbreak on the way....

Problem with my Sony SCD-777ES
Jadem6, how nice to have you back! All these reports give me the jitters and I keep on touching wood. So far the thing is working and slowly breaking in. The Audience mod is truly amazing.
Connecting two amps-bi-amp cabling
MIT used to make special speaker cables for just this your purpose. They were however not useable for every kind of amp. Get in touch with Joe Abrams at equusaudio@aol.com, he could tell you more. He is very helpful and kowledgeable in these matte...
Problem with my Sony SCD-777ES
Drubin, to my dismay, I've had the same trouble with my unit, while breaking it in. It just balked with certain SACD disks, wouldn't play them. But then I had no trouble with the CD version of the same disk. Possibly Tube guy is right in that the ...
"Pictures From Exhibition" best recording?
I very much go with Gregm. I also like Fritz Reiner's version with the CSO. Jonathan's suggestion makes me curious, although generally I cannot bear big orchestral music on CD, even if its done by RR...too used to and spoilt by vinyl.
