Vandersteen Quattro review in Stereophile
If you listen to orchestral and organ (as well as jazz, rock, country and everything else like me) and like a sound that spreads across the room and are not shy about realistic volumes, than belly up to the bar boys & girls.Does this mean they...
Not wasting my time on new Digital
Ray Kimber's Isomike recordings demonstrate how effective rear channels can be in delivering the (binaural) experience of listening to live music. Rest assured, no pianos will play behind you.Sean, I'm afraid I don't understand your post at all. C...
Need Recommendation of PC speakers
Uh, what are wonderful? What did you get?
Point of diminishing returns
Mt10425 -- Ha! Yeah, I wasn'r really explaining the term, which Markphd and Rar1 did superbly. I wanted to make a point about the relationship between price and value in our hobby.
Not wasting my time on new Digital
Very interesting discussion. Makes me want to hear some of this retro stuff. How does the Channel Islands DAC stack up, does anyone know? Price is sure right.
Point of diminishing returns
And it's a really tricky concept when it comes to connoisseurs, which we audiophiles are. Someone might argue that the Zu Definitions at $9,000 are not 3 times better than the Druids at $2800 and continue to say something about diminishing returns...

The price difference between the two Quattros shows you how much cabinet contributes to speaker costs and why Vandersteen has always represented such a good value (but not such an attractive speaker). I would have a hard time putting the non-wood ...
Cayin A 88-T integrated:The new King of the Hill?
I have an APL CDP and Harbeth speakers, and I have a Rowland pre I have used with the Cayin, which clearly shows the limitations of Cayin's preamp section.
Velodyne DD's flying out of owners' houses
Thank you!Have any of you DD owners also owned REL subs? How would you compare their strengths and weaknesses?
Cayin A 88-T integrated:The new King of the Hill?
That Dussun looks mighty impressive.AAA Audio, who distribute Dussun in the US, had one of my favorite rooms at HE2006. They were using other amplification, however.I have a Cayin A88-T. As you've probably read elsewhere, there's a lot to be gaine...

What is known about the 5a Signature?
digital amp, rowland 201,nuforce?
The Concerto integrated amp section is effectively the same as as pair of 201s. In my opinion, the 201s sound very different from the Nuforce amps, but they are both great products. I am sure the H20 is also great, but jeeziz, Audiofankj, give it ...
