Replacement for Maggie's?
I'm no Maggie lover I've had the 1.6 and 3.6 I found both to be very frustrating, they had good qualities but what they did wrong I just could not get over. Lack of bass is a major issue for me too just a weak sound in terms of dynamics in general...
Integrated amp: Can it perform equal to separates?
Another option might be what was suggested. A power amp and a DAC direct to it. I have a PS Audio PW 2 and it sounds better slightly direct to amp than through my expensive preamp. I would think something like that would give you the biggest bang ...
Best "Giant Killer" Value Cables For...
I would add Grover Huffman cables to your list. I tried a set of the interconnect and heavily preferred it to a cable at 10X it's price. He got a couple reviews that basically said the same thing, his cables compete with cables at any price.
Revel Utopia speaker delamination
I think you mean Ultima Gem not utopia
iPad "Remote" App for iTunes
Wait until you get good and knowing al, the ins and outs of remote for iPhone or iPad and then apple will Change it and take away all the things you liked about it. It was really important to me to be able to pull my phone out and rate music quick...
Using the PerfectWave DAC MK II
I bought one a few months back. I was using the Bryston BDA 1 and Benchmark DAC before. The PS audio is quite noticeably better it seems like you get a lot for your money. It sounds really good direct to the amp a bit better than through the pream...
Creek Destiny 1 & Destiny2 Any difference??
I also owned the 5350 and the destiny is better but it's only weakness is it doesn't play extremely lound with inefficient speakers like dynaudio or revel. I've had mine shut down a time or two when really cranking some music for a while and that ...
Seeking DAC $300
For 300 you might be able to get a MHDT paradisea + that is a really nice sounding DAC that competes with much higher priced units for about 600 or so you could get a Benchmark DAC1 that is a step up and comes very close to the sound of more expen...
Creek Destiny 1 & Destiny2 Any difference??
I own and still do the Destiny 1. It is a great amp solid build and very good sound. In my audio travels this is about what it takes to get what I consider acceptable sound. You can pair this with almost any decent speakers and a decent DAC and ge...
why did my iphone quit working on Wadia idock?
The wadia is just sitting if you are interested ill give you a great deal on it. I have my Apple TV working now so there is no need for the wadia any longer.
Integrated Choice - Down to two
The big advantage with the exposure is you can leave it on all the time. I've had lots of tube amps and for me the hassle of having to turn them off and on all the time is enough to make me a solid state guy plus solid state is just as good anyway
Moving from Dynaudio Confidence 3?
I think you are right about them sounding better played loud I find the same to be true with the many dynaudios I've owned. Not so much with the dynaudio xeo wireless speakers which may be something you could consider such a simple and great sound...
Moving from Dynaudio Confidence 3?
I'd agree that likely unless you've tried a nice amp with these you haven't really heard them. Sim audio solid state sounds great with dynaudio if you don't have a big room or play to loud the i5.3 is a good match
Looking for a very good integrated solid state amp
It's all about synergy with your speakers. I have a creek destiny and a sim audio i5.3 and they are both great with the right speakers. The sim really works great with dynaudio but was a real bore with a set of Von schweikert monitors. The destiny...
Does my acoustic ideology make me an outcast?
You are def good at patting your own back I'll give you that.
