Can You See The Pancake Makeup In Your Blu-Rays?
Yeah, apples and oranges. I reread the op description and realize YES a huge screen like the op's will certainly show far more detail than a 42".My bad.(My next panel will certainly be 60" or better. My 42 was a $5,000. Plasma back in it's day.)
running audio research d300 bridged
In general bridged amps do NOT do well with 4 ohm loads.Usually bridging will reduce the impedance each side of the stereo amp 'sees'. So the amp internals see a 4 ohm load as 2 ohms.. not very good.So better to do some other thing than bridge the...
Tone arm bounces
Agree acoustical feedback.Try some mass loading below TT. under the TT, or under the stand on floor. At least 70 to 100 pounds.Cement bricks are good and cheap temporary fix.
Cartridge sitting idle for 6 year?
The suspension on only SOME cartridges dries up. Other can go 30 years or way more no problem. If you use the cartridge and it does not seem really messed up, Then it is fine.If it is tracking, and the music seems decent, it is just fine.Suspension...
Can You See The Pancake Makeup In Your Blu-Rays?
It does not take a BluRay player to see all the lines and wrinkles on faces, or the stubble hair by hair on guys.I only have a 42" early Sony Plasma 720p max resolution.I can see clearly all sorts of tiny imperfections.I use a power conditioner, a...
Pre-amp To Amp Interconnects
The best way to find your way through all the information is to set some realistic goals. The first IMO (and yes this is just MY opinion)Spend only a small percentage of the cost of your equipment on cables.10% to 15% total compared to your gear.Pl...
Do you believe in Magic?
The refferal was to the guy with the antistatic stuff being called a quack, no reference to THIS op post. Sorry I was not clear.
Pass 250.5 shuts down driving Magnepan 3.7
Suggestion: do not play your system that loud.Otherwise, toss the amps and buy Bryston.
Do you believe in Magic?
Other types of materials used to absorbe RFi EMI digital hash inside equipment is Antistatic foam.Years ago in Stereophile this tweak was mentioned by a fellow from Holland.Others (in posts such as this) then preceeded to slam him as a quack.Anywa...
Anodized arm wand
Anodized will not discolor, where the ordinarry aluminum one can start getting dull and mottled if you are not careful. The anodized one will also have a somewhat harder surface, as if it was wrapped with another material, which will alter the reso...
Hum, buzz, snap, crackle and pop?
Try different tubes. All those tube noise problems are not a nessessary evil. But headphones do reveal a lot of detail.. And the Sennheiser HD800 are very detailed.(I own Sennheiser HD800s I use with a Rudistor RPX33mk2)
Sony XA5400ES fuse directionality...
Best way is to try both, and the one way which sounds clearly better is the right one.Of course, if you are not able to hear a difference, then it did not matter anyway.(Sorry to be so mean about it, but it is the truth.)((And I am not a doubter.....
Cracked my amplifier faceplate. HELP
If you want a real MAC, then I suggest you keep it a real MAC.Buying some cheap fake faceplate is not going to work out in the long run.So blow the $185. on the replacement.I have never owned MAC gear, nor do I have any motive to say buy the real ...
What has surprised you fidelity wise?
Recordings from the 78 era.I have over 50 Proper Box Sets of Jazz from as far back as the 20's up through the 50's. With most of the recordings in the 40's.The music is wonderful.Considering the transcription is mostly from 78s.. it is fantastic.A...
Question about Bryston Amp XLR Inputs??
I mentioned it so the op could see that it was answered over there in case he or she did not go back to see.Since the answer was posted a reasonable time prior. The op mentioned how the gon post took forever to be posted. No fault. no problem.
