Unless you know what you feel you are missing, and want. The quest is not likely the be productive.

Turntable speed accuracy
Speed is also NOT of utmost importance to me.I do nor 'suffer' from perfect pitch, and am glad I do not.So n problem for me. Whatever the speed as long as it is reasonable I am fine.So 31 rpm is probably not reasonable here... Just to fend off jok...

Well, First off do YOU hear anything that you consider to be a problem?I use chemical butyl rubber bottle stoppers. size 10 between my glass shelves and the equipement feet.

Is this from your seated postion WHILE LISTENING TO MUSIC?Or between ?Or with your ear close to the speakers?

Also: Electronics produce a small but often audible (if you stick your ear right up to the speaker!) noise due to 'quantum noise' in electronics.ALL electroncis produuce this sort of noise. It may be filtered out, it may be inaudible to some folks...

I do not know of any CD machines that have any issues playing CD-R.CD-RW is a different matter, and rare the maching that will play one other than a computer.Most machines that play CD-R play it same as CD.So what is the beef? 
Balanced vs standard power
I am a fan of balanced A/C power inot my stuff.I do not have any graphs, white papers, PhD's blah blah blah. I just like it better.I use both a Furman REF 20i and a PS Audio P600 power conditioner. They are balanced output.

I polish my CD cases with a silicone product. They are way slipperier than usual.The mark up less and look better longer. But naturally they do not stay in stacks very well.
