| 2017 Honest Cabling that doesn’t promote bankruptcy I like to make my own with Connex pure silver cables and Eichman bullets. For speakers, I like bare copper and wire world. Wire world, especially their mid-range is dark but has fabulous imaging. Best,E | |
| WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU? ISOLATION PLATFORMS, FOOTERS, ETC. for a DAC? Room acoustics matter a lot more. Decent AC conditioner from Furman with LiFT and SMP or PS Audio. Keep wall warts / lights out of your AC environment. If USB/PC based, consider USB isolator. | |
| Is Spiking Necesarry? Almost forgot, IsoAcoustics just started selling isolation feet for speakers, in addition to their usual bases. Worth checking out. Best,E | |
| Is Spiking Necesarry? I use little brass disks sold for just this purpose. The general idea is to minimize the surface area of the speaker cabinet to the floor, AND minimize the movement of the speaker in space. Woofer's exert a lot of energy and may actually move the ... | |

| Acoustic treatment for side glass doors / please, need ideas. Also, you can experiment a little with pillows and blankets. Try throwing them around on the floor, between and behind the speakers. :) Best,E | |
| Acoustic treatment for side glass doors / please, need ideas. Bass traps are great, also suggest considering diffusion, especially behind and between the speakers. Contact GIK acoustics for pro level help, and very cost effective products. Best,E | |

I also want to suggest, that while imperfect, treating what you can can make up for what you can't. For instance, extra thick rugs, ceiling treatment, and diffusors between the s... | |
| Class D is just Dandy! So I know people are used to me laughing at most 1980’s attitudes about Class D. However, the reality is that some Class D can emit a lot of RF noise, I think Putzeys writes somewhere that it can actually cause cross-interference if two Class D am... | |
| Class D is just Dandy! When I'm watchin' my tv and a man comes on and tell meHow white my shirts can beBut, he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smokeThe same cigarettes as me - The Rolling Stones, 1965 | |
| More curious than a real question- remote trigger? Anyone use it? So as to the question about sound quality, no, the trigger switches do not affect sound quality. However, I like to leave my main amps on 24/7. A lot easier on the planet with Class D. :) Best,E | |
| Class D is just Dandy! Hi Tim,That is interesting, George has been hawking this for a while. However, since I cannot hear any problems with good class D, I won't be put out if I stick with "slow" transistors. They work just fine for me.One really interesting thing about ... | |
| Class D is just Dandy! @asvjerry I cannot hear the difference between my class D amps and Parasound A23s. Zero. None. Therefore, small, lower stand-by power wins. But there are interesting hybrids. NuForce is basically class D voltage rails + Class A linear amp. Yamaha’... |
