Opinions on Antique Sound Lab "Tulip"
there was an excellent review in one of the editions of listener if you have access. They were thought to be a great sounding amp and a bargain
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
lots of great choices. One of my favorites I did not see mentioned was Larry Coryell. Well worth a listengary
"Aesthetically pleasing" DAC???
also consider the audiomeca mephisto. truely gorgeous and wonderful sounding. extremely smooth but not inexpensive. I have pictures on my system
Please one last request...
krellmanI have had the mephisto II transport for 2 years and used it a lot. i have had no problems whatsoever but am very careful with the machine. I cannot comment on service but audiomeca has a new rep in NA and I understand he is very good. I h...
Amp for Piega P-8 Ltd.s
Dear MichaelI have had the p8ltd for the past 2 years till I replaced it with the c8ltd (a big improvement by the way). I have used a nuvista m3 integrated with 250 watts per side and with tube pre and ss output. The tubes have 100,000 hours so th...
Which speakers do you like in the $5K price range?
I would second the recommendation of the piega p10 or p8ltd used. Depending on the finish it will end up in your price range used. They are excellent with solid state and very compatible with SACD. I had the p9 in very similar position to you with...
Best Phono Stages on Integrated Amps?
I currently have the nuvista M3 which has a mc/mm phono stage. I use a ruby 2 and am very pleased with the sound. This ma;y be worth considering though you would have to buy it used.
Why vinyl?
RonPoints well made. It really is separating the forest from the trees or the music from the clicks and pops. I would also agree the time has never been better for getting quiet great sound at a reasonable price.
Speakers - Avalon versus Piega?????
chrisI have not heard heard the opus but have owned the p8ltd and now have the c8ltd. When I bought the p8ltd I did audition such things as verity parsifail, quads, smaller utopia, and b & w and chose the piega. I have always been partial to r...
Burmester speakers owners here ?
I must say you hear very little from burmester owners. I have never heard any of the equipment. I am sure it is great but, yourself excluded, may be bought by people who are less audiophile like and more just wanting the 'best' where money is not a...
Amplification for piega p5-ltd speakers?
I have had p8 ltd and now c8ltd and have driven both with the musical fidelity nuvista m3. It is a great combo I believe, lots of power but the finese of tubes. Used ones do come up in the price range you mention. I would highly recommend the comb...
Integrated amp to replace a MF Nu-vista M3?
It would be helpful knowing more about your system (ie cables, accessories, room, music type) and especially what it is you feel you are missing. If you don't know what you are fixing it will be tough to know when you have fixed it. You already ha...
MC demagnetizer, how many use one, any concerns?
To all who have answered thanks very much. I appreciate both points of view. I plan on trying it but recognize that this is not something that is likely to lend itself to any sort of a/b comparison. Since it will take several days for the cartridg...
Review: AudioMeca Keops CD Player
DRVNice review. It mirrors what BAMA 214 found with the mephisto/ekianthus dac. There are a couple of things I found that affect the sound for the better. First was better isolation, I ultimately went with upside down rollerblocks on a svelte shel...
CD Players with Analogue Sound
strongly second the audiomeca mephisto II
