All Kit are Band-Aids
DSOTM, of course! I've heard that wearing hats made from aluminum foil negate the effects of the frequency thing.
Is this the end of HEA?
I'm sure there were a very serious group of individuals sitting around worrying that their Marconis were failing to gain traction. They were enjoying listening to Caruso live on a single speaker and were certain the apocalypse was upon them. Then,...
All Kit are Band-Aids
I wish the OP had a different hobby.
USB to SPIDIF converter for MAC
Singxer SU-1 is what you are after if you require higher rez than the Schiit Eitr.
Integrated amplifier search
Schiit Bifrost multibit, Schiit Saga pre and Schiit Vidar amp. About $1,650 all together and it would have the small form factor you are after, provide multiple upgrade paths for the future and likely be a considerable upgrade from your present se...
Dynaudio Xeo 20 vs KEF LS50 Wireless
Mine streams fine using the Kef's as a Roon end point. With that said, I like the sound achieved through the usb and I had a Macbook available. It all depends on your wifi setup and your router. No issues here.
Best 6x9 Speakers
While they aren't 6x9 speakers and since there is "no window" to post about car audio on Audiogon, I will offer my favorite from many moons ago.I loved my Acoustic Research AR2's (set into the parcel well, removing the package shelf) wired into my...
Dynaudio Xeo 20 vs KEF LS50 Wireless
The KEF LS50 wireless are an exceptional value and super easy to set up. I have a pair and do a superb job in checking all the boxes we all seem to seek. They are not my main speaker system but this is the future of audio. They are cheap enough th...
One DAC/integrated you could be happy with forever?
I enjoy my Audio Research GSI75. I've had alot of fine gear, this piece gets it pretty darn right. I can understand at its $16,000 price it didn't fly off the shelves. Additionally, many of our peers prefer multiple boxes which is fine too. Horses...
What's happened to the used high end market recently?? Sales are tough....:0(
@fleschler Your housing and square footage numbers, while likely numerically correct, may be disproprotionately skewing the data. Using your home as an example which sounds to be in excess of 4,000 square feet, you have to admit most young people ...

Thanks to the op for starting this thread, its a great dialogue that will play itself out over time for all of us to review in the future. Succinctly, the following observations may or may not be correlated to the topic. IF HEA is in decline, some...

For goods that depreciate very little, I buy new. For items that depreciate rapidly, I buy pre-owned. Simple right? What I think we hear through all of the white noise is that the residual values people once took for granted may no longer apply. S...

@jmcgrogan2 I would concede your points that some dealers use Audiogon today as a fully inflated classifieds listing rather than the clearinghouse for gear we all once experienced here. Much like the starting price in an auto negotiation rather th...

Guys, I promise I’m not trying to start a debate or an argument, that isn’t me. I merely try to observe measurables. I’m a hobbyist like most here and I’ve done about 20 buy/sell transactions on here this year. All were concluded with fair prices ...

@daveyf Again, to beat the dead horse a little more, I have successfully bought and sold several items this year. Both types of transactions were pretty quick, less than 1 week typically soup to nuts.  I've sold some NOS tubes that went quickly fo...
