Best integrated up to $6000
Dayglow, you are correct about the Audio Research VSI75 and VAC 160 being above the price point mentioned when new however I have seen both listed for sale here on Audiogon near $6,000 from time to time. The ARC VSI60 is probably the amp to consid...
Best integrated up to $6000
No offense to anyone on this thread or any amp I mention, YMMV and speaker selection matters immensely. I've owned some great integrateds, they were all terrific in their own right but....the VAC Avatar was really nice...a really fine el34 integra...
Audioresearch VSi75 VS. PrimaLuna
B_limo, no problem, I'm always available to help a fellow 'goner if I can be of service! ;)david is correct, the Ref 75 is at another level from the vsi75. I made my decision for my listening environment, needs and balanced that with my desire for...
Audioresearch VSi75 VS. PrimaLuna
No offense intended but the Prima Luna doesn't play on the same field as the Audio Research VSI75 nor should it considering the price differential. I think the world of Kevin Deal, Upscale Audio and the Prima Luna equipment. It is some of the most...
Seeking more 3d imaging, deeper/wider soundstage
Bo1972 has been conspicuously absent from Audiogon. I hope he is ok and not just sitting in the corner of a room in self imposed exile upon discovering that he he arrogantly scolded a world class audio designer by accident. Bo, show some character...
Seeking more 3d imaging, deeper/wider soundstage
Tom, I kind of enjoy waiting for the next pronouncement from Bo....I just sit back amazed that some things are actually considered by some people to be normal behavior. He actually thinks he's being profound in each of his posts although I also po...

Ding-ding-ding!!! We have a winner!!!Bo, you have now crossed the threshold from which there is no return. It is now apparent to even the casual observer that you are, in fact, quite rude! It is also obvious that you intended to talk out of your b...
Seeking more 3d imaging, deeper/wider soundstage
Dear Bo,I actually didn't expect further arrogance from such an indefensible position but from your above quote: "It is as it is. Maybe it sounds hard, it is not rude. Words can be read differently." It appears you just may not know any better!Her...

Dear Bo,Your tone of voice in your posts and your positioning of yourself as an expert of monumental proportions just suffered a severe blow. The way you rudely and summarily dismissed Atmasphere's comment is at once shocking and yet very telling....
Why not magnetic tapes in stead of vinyl records?
Onhwy61, the prerecorded cassette transfers were done high speed and suffered terribly from reduced frequency response. Cassette was a dictation medium and its performance was never even close to reel to reel. Someone above mentioned Tandberg but ...
Why not magnetic tapes in stead of vinyl records?
The real reasons were pretty simple if you think about it and they were durability and production oriented. You can not mass transfer from tape to tape. To high speed dub from tape to tape, you lose frequency response. Significantly so depending o...
New KT150 tubes?
Tsushima1, awesome review from your friend. Does this mean you are going to stop typing about the no-brainer upgrade and do it for yourself? What does "actually" mean in your first sentence? Is that to imply that if someone isn't sitting around wr...
New KT150 tubes?
Tsushima1, why get so wound up over a tube change from 120's to 150's? Ive heard the ref150 and it is a stunning amplifier out of the box. There is also some serious time involved in life testing. You see, you cant just test 1 set of tubes in 1 am...
