Would "Sgt. Pepper's" be a better album if.....
dodgealum - I don't want to get embroiled in a "better album" debate :-) though I sort of get where you are going with this. Of your two options, I guess I’d choose Penny Lane given Lennon’s Lucy in the Sky and Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite ar...
Interesting article on audiophiles and audiophilia
Thanks for posting, Simao. Well-written and sympathetic. It articulates so many aspects of the "hobby". Despite dubious personal credentials, pleased to have dealings with other bona fide members of the "tribe" from my dwelling in the low rent out...
Is it safe to use XLR cable to connect single ended source with single ended amp?
Inna - I will take that under advisement; Understood: Sonically not ideal. I do have a multimeter and appreciate Al’s diagnostic recommendation. I can do that.  Thanks to both of you.

What about the "right speakers"? In reality don’t you need the right marriage of electronics AND speakers to realize those audio qualities??? Electronics alone ain’t gonna get it if the speakers are crap or just not a good match for the electronic...

Thanks, Alex.  I will check that out (revisit, actually).  Pretty certain someone had posted that LP a little while back.  Don't get my wrong...I'm not bashing Joe Zawinul as a musician, more like questioning his direction and "taste/style" later ...

Something "newish" (2004)...Bill Connors, "Return".  BC being the original Return to Forever guitarist (before Al Di Meola)...or so I read.  This is jazz that works for me; hoping others like it too (please don't tell me it's "smooth jazz"!).  Pic...

Gents - Thanks for your thoughtful replies to, what in retrospect, might have been a bit of a silly comment. I think Acman’s "maybe I have heard the language, and it comes more natural..." definitely has something to do with it. Y’all have been at...

Hello Mr. F- Thanks for comments on Takin’ Off and that Pitchfork review. On the former (and prior to reading your comments) I went over to the current "Best Debut Album" thread and added that one to it. The more I listened last night the more it ...

Herbie Hancock, "Takin' Off"Saved a lot of Hancock recordings to favorites in Tidal & Spotify.  His discography is massive.  Have only listened to a small portion of it. Spending time with Takin' Off this evening.  Very impressed with it's mel...

I suspect there’ll be a price to pay for voicing that particular form of critique, Mr. F. ;-) though I find it way more palatable than some of the outrageous non-music-related social commentary I saw posted over the last couple of days! I tried Ka...

Here on A'gon, I would love to be spared political commentary by misinformed, Kool-Aid drinkers.
