Your Music Server
You can click on my system to see my setup, and even though I use an Airport Express you may be doing yourself a disservice by using one with your DAC. The Altmann has jitter reduction so it shouldn't make any difference, but I would suspect that ...
Setting Azimuth
You want to minimize the sound. You won't be able to achieve complete silence.
Preamp Quandary - sonics vs. ergonomics??
The input impedance of each channel is usually detetermined by a single resistor on the amp's input. If this is the case with your amp then any competent tech could change that resistor and raise the input impedance. Why not check with the manufact...
Balanced SET? North Audio
sdrsdrsdr, not only is your analysis of these amps incorrect but now that I look at it, North Audio's analysis is also severely flawed.BTW, I read the manual and he never claims it is not push-pull.Their amps can only be used with a fully balanced...
Balanced SET? North Audio
You can call an apple an orange but it is still an apple. That is a push-pull amp no matter what he calls it and it's nothing new.
Yahoo transaction? Western Union? Or just scam
can't find any proof from Yahoo's website even though I did receive a payment notice email from a Yahoo account So you already paid?
Ground loop feedback
Are you sure it is a ground loop? Perhaps the amps just hum. Go to Radio shack and get 2 RCA connectors. Short the center connection to the ground connection with a clip lead or paperclip or something. Or cut a cheap interconnect, strip it back a ...
Bose Wave Music system
I've heard the radio without the CD player. It's a nice boom box, but I think you can do better for the money. I have a Tivoli 2 and while it is not audiophile quality it is a very nice sounding radio. You can add their CD player in matching cabin...
Losing volume when sub is hooked up
Yes, 100K input on the speaker/high level inputs is a very easy load for your integrated. I agree that is the best way to configure the sub in your system.
Losing volume when sub is hooked up
I found this spec sheet for the sub and it says the input impedance for the line input is only 2.5K. That is very low. That might be a misprint but it explains what you are hearing. I see other RELs that state 10K, also a relatively low value. You...
Losing volume when sub is hooked up
What sub is it? What integrated? You will get better advice if you provide details.
Losing volume when sub is hooked up
Do you mean the main speakers lose volume?Does the sub have a line/spkr level switch? Maybe it's in spkr and loading down the pre.
TSM-MM not loud enough ...
Oh, I get it. They are Merlin speakers.. Never heard of them.Their web site says they can produce 104dB with 80 watts. With a couple of subs that's pretty loud. What amps are you using? What kind of music do you listen to?
Crown amps
The DC300 was in the first generation of high power transistor amplifiers. For it's time it was a very powerful amp but it is not great sounding compared to today's offering. The IC150 as well as the Phase Linear products are of the same era. Thes...
TSM-MM not loud enough ...
TSM-MM?What is a VSM?Merlins?I'm sorry, but the rest of us aren't as familiar with your system as you are. Your post is so devoid of details that it makes it impossible to make any sensible recommendations.
