Is $18,000 enough for a high end HT?
I hate when people throw around "this isn't high-end" and phrases like that.High-end is what you make it. If it looks and sounds good to you then it's high-end. You could spend $18k on a pair of stereo speakers ferchrissakes. What kind of system do...
Hi-Fi wanna-be needing advice on an Amp purchase
Gotta recommend the Odyssey Stratos. I have the 60v2s as well and I have the Stratos amp and it was a truly amazing difference over my 5 channel amp.
Home Theater Speaker Advice
Why exactly do you think that many manufacturers "HT packages" are typically 2 floorstanders (from their music lineup), a center channel, a subwoofer and 2 rear speakers (usually bookshelf speakers also from their music lineup...but many go with d...
B&W 7NT vs. Paradigm reference 80 for plinius mkII
He actually said that he couldn't hear the 6k difference.I would also vote for the Paradigms. I personally think they sound much better than the B&W's. I also think that the reason all your "audiophile" reviewers and retailers friends don't ow...
Great Rock & Roll speakers?
Anyone have any experience with the new Q series Kefs? Those look really nice but I haven't heard them.
Home Theater Speaker Advice
The reason is this: Most people end up playing music in their HT rooms. If they have a seperate music room then oftentimes they like to be able to listen to quality music in the HT room as well. A dedicated HT speaker just doesn't sound very good ...
Odyssey speakers?
Not REALLY looking but I was curious if anyone had heard any of them. You never know when you might get the urge to sell your current speakers and possibly upgrade ;)
Review: Paradigm Studio 60 Speaker
Totally agree. My 60v2's are excellent speakers. Extremely detailed and transprent. They just let the music flow. The soundstage is huge and I often find myself turning around looking for that extra sound in the background.
Review: Paradigm PW-2200 Subwoofer
Totally agree. I have had mine for 2 years and I keep discovering how glad I am that I bought it. Very fast response and as thunderous as you can handle!
Great Rock & Roll speakers?
I actually found my Paradigms slightly bright (what a shocker) until I got the Odyssey Amp. Now they are nice 'n smooth. That amp made a HUGE difference over the NAD 5 channel I was using before.
Great Rock & Roll speakers?
In your opinion of course. No offense taken. Speakers are probably the most subjective peice of equipment out there. So, while you may think the Paradigms suck, I actually found them better than most I heard at twice the price. Once they broke in t...
Great Rock & Roll speakers?
Glad I didn't listen to Scottht before I went out and got the best sounding speakers for the money in the Paradigms. Sheesh. Next time don't sugar coat it and tell us what you really think.
How much power do you need for realistic HT?
I think that the 100-120 would be fine for a theater with smallish speakers. Any decent theater uses a powered subwoofer which handles all the serious power sapping explosions. The center (usually small sized) primarily handles dialogue and the re...

Get the Studio 60's, Studio CC, Studio 20's and a PW2200 Sub in the Paradigm. Should come out about the same price and offer a MUCH better theater experience. Trust me ;)
Slight hiss when amp on and system off.
Thanks a bunch. I emailed Odyssey support but got no reply. The 'Gon is a great place for tech support ;)
