| Phono pre for ZYX 100 Yatra high output I will suggest a K&K step up transformer to get more gain. I know the STU's are another link in the chain but it's another option. Kevin is a great guy and I suggest giving him a call and discussing your situatuion. | |
| Designer Hall of Fame I second Victor Khomenko of BAT for introducing the 6H30 super tube and the innovations associated with that tube. | |
| CP-700 Classe Pre-Amp I would recommend a BAT VK 31 or the 31SE/51SE. I like the flexibility of rolling the tubes in the 31. I think the BAT would be a good match with your monoblocks. If buying new, the 31SE/51SE are closing out and the pricing is favorable and you wo... | |
| oh no..did i mess up my amp I would suggest letting the amp cool down, change tube, replace fuse, turn on. | |
| Advice / Counsel re: Upgading System B&W bought Classe to provide "companion" electronics for their speakers. Now, I mention that as a starting point. I suggest a slush fund to begin purchasing and listening to equipment that you can "turnover" without suffering to much of a loss... | |

| What made you select "audio" as your hobby I was building "tube and knuckle" scaffold inside a nuclear reactor and I had this song goin thru my head. And I thought.... this sounds better than my "Alpha-Newtron" reciever with bose speakers. I gotta do things different. | |
| Integrated tube amp with tuner? Check out a Scott 340B. Mapleshade reconditions them or they show up here from time to time. I have one mated with a pair of Heresey's and the combination pleasantly suprises me. The 340 also has a decent phonostage as well as a tuner. | |
| Add a Warranty section to Audiogon classified ads? I don't think there should be a section to offer warranties. It will only create more disputes. Lets keep it simple. | |
| I have just purchased the latest Sound Lab M1 I'll chime in here with another view. I own a pair of Soundlab A3's and use BAT VK 55 monoblocks. I never listen above 85 db and these amps have proven to be very capable. In the summer I use an Innersound ESL 300 MKII. I prefer the 55's midrange ... | |
