Tonearm Rewiring Vendor Recommendation
Hi JB - I would contact Michael Wharton at Brit Audio (www.britaudio.com) for the job.  He does exceptional work and is very reasonable.
Two Shelf Amp Stand?
I have a 2 shelf Sistrum rack for my BAT mono amps and it works nicely and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Adjustable height is a plus as well.
HELP WITH A PREAMP DECISION
It is really doubtful that you could EVER find a preamp that is better than the Veloce, It might be tie to replace the tubes OR it might be time to replace the batteries ( which can also make it sound a bit hard), but I certainly would not change ...
Spdif cable construction.
HI Kev - I am at a loss to try and understand how re-clocking data in any way offsets the digital reflections that occur when the SPDIF cable is too short. It might be "Advisable" to talk audio with people that actually know audio.
Interesting way to wire speakers…???
Hi Steve - your photo shows this to be single wired and not bi-wired. Should result in no issues at first, but the bare wire will oxidize fairly quickly and performance will degrade. The solution for that would be to use silver or silver plated wi...
Audio Desk & it's service
I don't know who the importer/distributor is for you in Malasia, but the US importer is great with responding to emails and handling the occasional problem with the RCM. I suggest that you contact them via email at ultra@ultrasystem.som and I am s...
How Do You Feel about The Cable Game?
Ozzy - someone should have explained to you that Synergistic Research has a lifetime "passport" upgrade program that provides you with 70% of the price you paid for your older S/R cables towards the price of brand new S/R cables. It is one of the ...
New mid level Turntable / cart / phono pre system
You should be able to get a VPI Prime turntable/3d arm with the SDS speed controller, a Soundsmith Zephyr II cartridge, the Soundsmith CounterIntuitive and a Musical Surroundings Phenomina II phono stage ( which would be a very good setup) and sta...
Speaker buzz with SS amplifier, input disconnected
Hi Brian- I had a similar issue with BAT monos a while ago. I would get a hum with the speakers connected and no input connected to the amp. Your amps were designed to run with XLR input and the amp will hum if there is no device plugged into the ...
Cardas clear reflection interconnect
Think of the Clear Reflection as being an improved Golden Reference - in other words, better high frequency extenstion with less grain, better low frequency pitch control and a slight bit less "midrangie" orientation of the presentation. Clear Ref...
Anyone try Synergistic Research PHT...
Lewm- where in the world did you get the idea that the PHT is magnetic? It is not, so therefore your question about increasing the magnetic field intensity is moot. No manufacturer that I know of would design and market an add on magnet for use wi...
Speaker Cable suggestion VA Kiss & Krell FPB200c
Hi Mikey - if it is at all possible, try to listen to a pair of Silent Source Signature speaker cables with your amp and speakers. Based on what sonic characteristics you are looking for and the match to the equipment, it should be exactly what yo...
Cartridge upgrade for Scoutmaster/JMW9
Hello Arsh- first things first. The first thing you should do is to get a better tonearm cable than the VPI cable, which is mediocre at best. Something like the Audience AU24 SE will give you far better results than what you have. I would then tak...
VPI Scout Ground Hum
Hope this helps - frequently the ground wire on the connecting block is not connected at the underside of the turntable, so it acts as though there is no ground at all and hums. I've run into this problem a number of times with Scouts/Scoutmasters...
Buiding listening room from scratch - need advice
I am going to take a different approach. I suggest that you allocate $1000 and go out to RMAF in Denver and hear LOTS of systems ad components in the same (relatively bad) acoustics. It will narrow down the search considerably and let you have a F...
