Has Anyone Heard the AMR CD-77 CD Player?
Hi, I had the Jadis JD3 with its integrated DAC in my system for a few years. As with all Jadis, the JD3 is an incredibly melodious unit and at the time I bought it unbeatable for its price. Meanwhile the Jadis price tags have become quite hefty, ...

Hi, look up the thread titled:Heard the Abbingdon Music research CD player?I have been using it for about two months now, that should amount to something like 100-120 hours, and it keeps getting better. I now plan to swap the already very good pow...
What time do you wear?
A fake Piaget until my 25th or thereabouts; thereafter none, and I hope I can keep it that way

Hi Brian, Not so much on the AMR CD-77 but as requested here are my impressions of the PS Audio Power Plant Premier.I've gone through several sessions of comparison now. The power set-up of the system was as follows:1) without PS PPP: AMR CD-77 wi...
Heard the Abbingdon Music research CD player?
I have been using PS Audio's Power Plant Premier for about a week now and have noticed that even after extended listening sessions, the AMR heats up considerably less than before. Interestingly, the Premier's display shows that the incoming voltag...
Heard the Abbingdon Music research CD player?
I can put your mind at ease: it does warm up considerably, but most certainly not to the extent you describe if you give it the top shelf (for a top loader, I think that is what most of us would do)

Hi Bob, since yesterday I am the proud owner of a CD-77. I had been looking to replace my Jadis JD3 that had been showing first mechanical signs of its age and had been auditioning a few machines in the EUR 10k-range including Burmester 001, DCS P...
Can I ever stand to listen to our system again
Dearest friends,Thank you so much for your kind words, I sense Rosemary's gratefulness to you over the support you're giving me in these days of darkness. Thank you.Karel
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?
2006 Volkswagen Passat with Dynaudio speakers in'em (conveniently cruising accompanied by the groove of Marc Moulin)
First song to "Blow You Away"...
Another one falling prey to Led Zep, in my case "Immigrant Song". I vividly recall being in the garden on a freezing cold night (interested in astronomy, nothing else) when it burst out from somewhere in the neigbourhood. I didn't know who or what...
Donald Fagen's Nightfly - Love it or Hate it?
Absolutely love it. In addition of everything that's been said so far, it's one of those albums that, played at low level, creates a superb mood of well-being (by which I'm not, repeat, not for a moment suggesting it were just "easy listening").
DaVinci Tonearm
Just for additional information (sure wish I could say I had listened to this myself); in the latest issue (6/06) of the German magazine LP, the combination TWA Raven AC / Da Vinci Grandezza / Clearaudio Goldfinger is described as "sonic nirvana",...
Equipment that has made you 'stop' looking?
1) Well Tempered Reference TT and arm;2) Tidal Contriva speakers (unless Joern Janczak has another - affordable - ace up the sleeve)
Personal turntable/cartridge evolution
Around 1974 on a student's budget: belt driven Pioneer with Shure MM , I can't possibly recall the model designations anymore.Around 1981 on some of my first earned wages: Technics SL-QL1 linear tracking direct drive with T4P plug-in Ortofon TMC 2...
