Looking for a pre-amp with a lot of inputs. 10
Linn's AV 5103 has ten stereo inputs plus five digital inputs and a tape/DAC loop as well.
Have you ever had a listening party?
I agree with Tim,I've never hosted a formal 'listening party' but have had many impromptu ones, they always seem to start at the bar, usually with some single malt or cask scotch, and then progress to the listening room... It might be a nice touch...
Which Amp for uppermost freq' in tri-amped setup?
If you get an LK 85, use that on the mids and use the 5105 for the tweeters, sounds backwards, but Linn is fanatical about using the best amp on the tweeters. The 5105's a great amp, have you given any thought to buying another one of those?? Or t...
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?
Well, I "finished" my HT a few months ago...except for the extra power conditioning I need, and the progressive DVD and HDTV set....and got engaged, so I just bought my dream car.I got a MB CLK 55 AMG Convertible, Bradz and Tireguy... yes, it is t...
How Do you hide/camouflage your rats nest?
I guess I got lucky, my fiance is fine with my HT, which runs six dual mono amps, all with active crossovers, plus the integral sub amp, so 13 channels for 5.1.... I personally like having the one wall entirely made up of stereo components. It sav...
NEW Power Treatment Technique
CFB I have snakes, they could eat each other while feeding, but aren't dumb enough to eat their own tails!
Center Channel Match for Linn Keilidh Speakers?
Isn't the Linn Centrik matched to Keilidhs??Check out Linn's website or call them @ 1-800-671-LINN, I've called them for all kinds of wierd stuff and they've been great. If you can't find it on the web, they should work with you at the number I li...
Linn Karik/Numeric vs Genki
I've seen Ikemi's for $2100 used, that's not much more than you'd pay for a Karik/Numerik combo, saves you some space and sounds better. As for the Genki, it's a nice unit, but the transport seems a little cheap to me, I personally would go with t...
Recommendation for universal learning remote
I second bigshutterbug, I've had the original pronto for 2 years and absolutely love it. It made my system so easy to use my girlfriend can use it!
What to do... US Postal Money order not received.
I use priority mail all the time, but I pay the 0.50 more for the delivery confirmation....gives you a tracking number to follow should it get delayed.
LINN aktiv vs passive biamping
Sorry to hear of your problem, I agree with jwalkerstewart, those Activ cards do take a while to burn in! I put mine together and thought I'd made a huge mistake. Fortunately after a few months they really came together, so much so I put Activ car...
Linn's advice about bi-amping; question
From what you've said above, it sounds as thought you've got the K400's in a bi-wire configuration (ie. Two connectors on one end, and Four on the other) All you'll need to do is modify, or have it done for you, the one end of each speaker wire, s...
new Electrocompaniet vs older LINN Karik/Nemeric?
The Karik/Numeric is a nice combo, but you could get an Ikemi for the almost the same price, which sounds better in my opinion, and saves you the space/interconnects of the seperate transport/DAC combo.Just my .02....
Active?? mix brands
Rcprince, you're very close. When converting Linn systems to Aktiv, you install powered crossovers in the amps, thereby the amp only has to generate power for the bandwidth each driver will produce. You then completely bypass the crossover in the ...
ultimate CD-R burner system?
As the signal is kept in the digital domain in any computer, buy the one with the fastest speed you feel comfortable buying, I doubt you'll hear any difference. If you are recording from analog sources......you would need to go through the sound c...
