| Pass XA30.5 vs. X150.5 John (Jdoris) I listen to lot's of different stuff, and a bit louder than your avg. level. I think I listen at around 85 with peaks to 95. What is your opinion on those levels, and I gather you are happy with the sound? | |
| Pass XA30.5 vs. X150.5 My speakers are 92 db and 4 Ohms, but they have lots of drivers 2-10", 2-7", 2-3" and a tweeter (Montana XP, plus I have a large room (35 x 25 x 10 foot ceiling). I was just wondering if the additional price of the XA30.5 used was mainly because o... | |
| Pass X vs XA amps sound quality in class A range Keep in mind that when you throw your parties you won't be critically listening so these amps will play way over their class A ratings with no risk of clipping as they convert to class AB. You wiill probably be safe with a lower powered one. | |
| Two things about tubes I have a Jolida integrated 502BRC and it's absolutely quiet even with my ear up to the mid and tweeter and volume at 90% with no signal. (spkrs 93 db eff.) | |
| Tube Basics 101: What is a rectifier tube for? Isn't that like saying any average steering wheel will operate a car, but take it out and let's see how well the car operates? | |
| Here I go, shooting myself in the foot The folks at Radio Shack looked at me like I was on glue when I went in and asked if they had any record cleaners. | |
| Former Jolida Owners - What did you upgrade to? I can't add here because I just got my first Jolida (502brc), but it was intended as a stepping stone. So I am very interested in replies to this thread. Let's keep it neat the top until a few members have "chimed-in" | |
| Mosfet mist? I have tried this, but it's hard to be precise with the +/- Variac sweep with the 3D glasses on as it is hard to see, plus I am mostly in the dark here. I thought I detected some smoke/mist coming from the Variac, but nothing from the speaker term... | |
| Audience ClairAudient Speakers My friend has 2+2 and I heard the 16+16 at AXPONA they are very nice, but will need a sub for real full range. They have wonderful detail, I like them, but they do seem a bit expensive for what you get. | |
| McCormack DNA .5? Do I need more power? It's a great amp, but I had to get rid of my Rev. A due to clipping my Maggie 1.6's Everything was fine until a low bass note was played and the speakers would make a "snap" sound. The 1.6 just sucked the juice out of that amp. Moving to a W4S ICE... | |
| EL34 in a 6550 amp? I don't have it yet. It will be delivered on Tuesday. Plus I don't even know which Jolida I got it from (Shenda or Maryland). The amp was designed for 6550, but they say a KT88 can be used as well. EL34 are supposed to be smoother so I was wonderi... | |
| speaker level sub hookup on class D? Thanks to all who posted. Here is an update. I spoke with E.J. at Wyred 4 Sound and he told me to use a multimeter to measure Ohms at the subs speaker level input.1. Measure from Pos to Neg on eacdh channel2. Measure from the left and right neg. t... | |
| Need amp suggestion for PBN Montana EPS2. Hey, I have Montana XP that I like a lot. I am powering them with a Wyred 4 Sound 500 watt, but actually 1,000 watts since the XP have a 4 Ohm rating. Very smooth with lots of detail. I was considering an amp change, but after a while I realized I... | |
| Need amp suggestion for PBN Montana EPS2. Why not try one of the amps that PBN sells. They are beasts that cost a lot, but every once in a while one comes up on the Gon (like now) the Everest is on sale since 11/29 at a good deal. I am not the seller. | |
| Bel Canto Ref 1000MK2 or Wyred SX1000MK2 I remember the TAS review of the 2 amps. In between the lines it seemed to say they both were the same, but we all know the saying "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." |
