How to fix a lack of bass Null
Yeah, that's why I gave up on meters / analysis / test disks and just listen. You can do about 3/4 of what a consultant can do, for a fraction of the money with only investing time and patients.Next thing, we'll be talking about RT60 and other phe...

Kijanki, you are computing for 2 wall reflection....good start, and the most important. How about 3 and 4 wall?
Two Subwoofers... Comb Effect
HSU Research recommends 'near field' sub placement. When I was up there (OC, SoCal) I sat in there listening/audition area and sat virtually next to the sub(s) under test. Still difficult to localize and the 'blend' was good.If I could work it out...
Best outlet
PS Audio Soloist? in wall surge/power cleanup with duplex outlet. My power amp / sub are using this. rest thru another outlet pair.
Two Subwoofers... Comb Effect
Above link is a very recommended read. Key appears to be asymmetrical placement. I believe wavelengths to be too long for such effects.50hz has over a 20ft wavelength...as long as many rooms.
Internet Radio: Audiophile or no?
What are the Tech Specs of XM / Sirius radio? How do they compare with old school FM? (15Khz max)Is there much or any degradation with XM over the likes of Direct TV or Dish Network?Overall, I'd give 'em high marks and they are great for background...
Walmart pushing blu-ray
WalMart up the street has 2 BR players for about 230$+tax. Low end stuff, but serviceable.Personally, I won't jump in until this settles out more. While I was the first kid on the block to own a CD player...I still have my original Philips/Magnevo...
Good speakers for a low budget
Need more information:
Accurate non-boomy sub for satellite system
http://www.harman.com/wp/pdf/multsubs.pdfPlease read above for the Harman International take on this. They really like the multisub idea, support it with both listening and hard data. If my listening area wasn't so messed up / asymetrical, this is ...

1. Google room mode calculator. Enter your room dimensions 2. It isn't just front to back or side to side reflections. There are models which include 2 wall, as above, or 3 or 4 wall reflections. each diminish in importance as wall reflections are...
Accurate non-boomy sub for satellite system
If you DIY, try to design for a fairly low, near 'critically damped' 'Q' of about .71 Above abot 1.0, a speaker will start to have problems with peaky bass/ poor control while too low....bass gets 'thin'.
Personal Preamp Evolution.
Used a KenWood KA-6100 integrated as a pre after a little snip-snip, solder-solder. If I knew than what Iknow now, I'd have installed pre-out RCAs and done the same for main in. Replaced that with a NAD1700 about '86 or so, than junked that out fo...
ICE amps need cooling?
My GCC250 runs warm in a poorly ventilated space ONLY if I hammer it as loud as it'll go for as long as I can stand.Other than that, reasonably cool, good dynamics and response.Since I gave up listening to sine waves and pink noise sometime in the...
What is your favorite material for loudspeakers?
Guidocorona I suspect you could build a speaker enclosure to operate like a fine string instrument. You could make one, or perhaps even a matching pair. There is almost no possible way, for a reasonable amount of money, to mass produce such an inst...
Sub-woofer/ Source for MAgnepan MG 1.6s
Philjolet, No problemo. Yeah, the 1.6s are real nice. My approach to leaving them alone was to get a sub to fill in below 40->50hz. Music only goes down so low, with the exception of Organ Peddle tones and and Imperial Grand Piano, which has an...
