CD player or CD transport ??
It really depends on what Oppo you have? But I will say that transports and DAC combos are important to get right. Every transport will sound differently with whatever DAC you run it to, then there is the connection (XLR,RCA,Optical,USB Audio) to ...

Dynaudio's best sounding bookshelf between $500-1000
I 2nd the Totem Model 1 sig’s. These speakers use a driver made by Dynaudio and it has a 3" voice coil! If your lucky you can find a early pair for around $1000. Model 1’s have been made for over 20 years! Also, a nice Classe 100w per channel amp ...
Hd-dvd
Ok I know you dont want to hear this ...BUT, forget the ghost, trash the DVD's and embrace cloud services. There is so much more content...(50 discs?? are keeping you from a whole new world) IMHO.  Its like clinging to BETAMAX? LOL. sorry.Matt M

Mark I think you will love the Oppo 105 I repeat 105 because it has dual  ESS Saber dacs and better high end audio circuitry. I would go ahead and buy it in a heartbeat, Highly recommended. You will be very glad im sure. Great sound and features, ...
Will Changing my 100 Watt Tube Amp to a 200 Watt SS Amp Solve My Problem?
I just mounted a new Dynavector 20X2 on my Xtension 10 and I have noise too! :-( I really dont think its the cartridge...or my Chinook phono pre...or my Manley Jumbo shrimp linestage, nor is it my amplifier. I think noise is getting in from the ho...
Will Changing my 100 Watt Tube Amp to a 200 Watt SS Amp Solve My Problem?
"minimum amplifier power recommendation of 50 watts."AL, What speaker manufacturer does not say this..?? ROFL.(please dont answer that)All I was saying is that Mark should try a SS amp (of course one that will drive the speakers) .Matt
Clearaudio Emotion SE: Good choice for Classic Rock?
Ok then, I would Highly suggest a Dynavector 10X5 for a lower cost option that would still work very well, on a RP6. Matt M
Will Changing my 100 Watt Tube Amp to a 200 Watt SS Amp Solve My Problem?
MARK, I agree with elevick... 85db speakers are not going to work well with tube power amps! I dont care what brand. Get a SS amp with proper input to match your pre amp and I assure you, the issue will be gone. Matt M
Can "Refurbished" Thorens turntables sound better, and worth taking a chance on??
IMO, It really depends on your equipment (how resolving) because if your gear is GOOD I think the classic tables make a lot of sense. (I have a TD 160 with grado wood prestige $600) A table like the Thorens TD160 with original tonearm TP16 and wir...
if you had my system and $2,000 budgeted for an upgrade, where would you spend it?
Wow Mark, you have a Lyra Delos on a Techno Dec? For a little more ... $2500 , you could move up to a GYRO SE pre owned/ used  WITH a better arm ?? That is where I would go.  Upgrade the turntable to the level your cartridge deserves man! Matt M
Clearaudio Emotion SE: Good choice for Classic Rock?
REGA RP6 w/o cartridge ($1500), Dynavector 20x2 MC ($1000) ...PRAT off the charts! AND under budget! Your welcome :-)Matt M
Did you hear Adele at the Grammy's?
" she always benefits from pitch correction, but this time it must have failed, and she and was unmasked" Bunch of garbage! I heard Adele here in Austin Texas and she has a real voice, she also did some unplugged sessions at the local radio statio...
Neat Momentum SX5i or Rega RX5
Rega makes turntables...Go with the Neat’s. Also, I will say any speaker you can audition in person is a big plus. If it sounds good, it is good, feel the force J :-)Matt M
Just moved to an apartment need speaker suggestions
British made speakers from Harbeth , Spendor, Epos, Also, Canadian made Totem Acoustic Model 1 Sigs,  might be just the ticket, all of these manufactures make speakers that perform great in smaller rooms.Matt M
