Phono preamp suggestions
With that PA and Pre why would you limit yourself to such an inexpensive phono pre?  I mean you have well over $15K at retail in the amp/pre combo.  What TT/arm combo are you using?
Mark Levinson - how to fix white logo paint that has peeled away?
Levinson used General Motors paint I was once told by one of their company reps.  I don't recall the exact name of the white, but he said that it was the purest white paint that they had found at that time.  Call Levinson and ask!
So disappointed in today's Americana
whart1 ,  Really appreciate the suggestion of The National Reserve!  I like them a lot.
Using Maple Butcher Block Under a Turntable
blueranger ambrosia maple is almost always soft maple (Red or silver).  I have never seen hard maple with Ambrosia beetle damage before, only Red Maple.  I have sold hardwood lumber since 2000, but I guess anything is possible in mother nature.
Using Maple Butcher Block Under a Turntable
dwette with that Janka scale rating it would be hard maple. I sell hardwood lumber and was just curious what the preferred type seemed to be. Thanks for the input.
Using Maple Butcher Block Under a Turntable
With regards to the maple from Mapleshade or Butcher Block Acoustics is this hard Maple or soft Maple?  If its soft Maple it is not as dense as Cherry or Black Walnut.  Hard Maple is very hard and I would imagine its resonance is at a higher frequ...
Powercon connectors for AC
Thanks for the input.  This is an older Quicksilver tube amp that I want to use as a stop gap.  I got to believe that any one that is interested in purchasing it later would appreciate a far better power cable than the stock cable/connection type.

Legacy Aeris owners which amp do you use and why?
@geek101That really makes me wonder if there is any future for brick and mortar if none are willing to allow a home demo to make a sale and cultivate a long term customer.  I am a dyed in the wool tube guy myself.  I would look for a really nice t...
Line Magnetic quality
I thought that LM is now dissolved as the two brothers that started the company were at odds with each other?  Did this issue get resolved?
Legacy Aeris owners which amp do you use and why?
I would suggest finding a stocking dealer and try out amplifiers in your home with the Aeris.  Otherwise its really not something that anyone can suggest that will satisfy your ears, system and room.
On the fence about Vinyl need a good phono stage for A/B testing
Be sure to give a Parks Audio phono stage a serious listen!  Many trusted individuals I know swear that this little guy hits way above its asking price!http://parksaudiollc.com/

Solid State vs. Tubes - What if Transistors came first?
Tubes were a step along the way to where we are today, which is not tubes to any meaningful extent worth mentioning anywhere but circular threads on "audiophile" forums. There was no sign of tubes on today's Apple conference and Bose does not s...
