James Randi vs. Anjou Pear - once and for all
The Tesla shields the signal from RFI and EMI. What they have solved is how to do that while not polluting the signal with dielectric random charges. That is a buffered electrical clean-out charge. Did I get that right? This is not reason enough t...
A butt-load spent in cables - how much improvemt?
I guess tube and wire tasters are relieved to hear signal molestation. That way they get the satisfaction all that money they spent is traceable, true fidelity aside. IMMMMHHHHHOOOOO hoho. How's that for lighting a fuse.....?
James Randi vs. Anjou Pear - once and for all
I would never go back to using Monster cable. It is too expensive, and the sound sucks. I roll my own. :)
Can speaker cables be too thick?
The proof is in the listening, musical instruments and voices gained a normalcy with decidedly more detail over the round wire. If there are radio signals getting through then I do not hear as well as I thought. The painter that is working in my r...
Can speaker cables be too thick?
Yes, Dave, dielectrics in fine source open systems benefit with air dielectric for just the reason you are describing. As for round vs, flat I am talking solid wire vs. flat ribbon at 12 gauge. For small wires, I like solid just fine. I use such a...
Can speaker cables be too thick?
Dave is echoing what I said about dielectrics. There are a number of cable makers that have addressed that concern. The Anti-Cable, a cable I championed, is very good in regards to noise suppression. The mids of round solid wire are fine, but the ...
Can speaker cables be too thick?
Flat - very thin- should be kept very short. That gives you the best worlds in mids and highs. Even 1 ohm benefits.

Thank you Bob.
Can speaker cables be too thick?
Oh, I didn't know the copper conductor was the issue. When Dazdax mentions Cardas and MIT in the same line, I naturally thought he was talking about the visual size. I do not have an opinion on thick cables. I will try that on my bass panels. I fo...
Can speaker cables be too thick?
Thick speaker cables are horrible on my system. I don;t care what shape they come in. I have tried the MIT and Cardas you mention. Pick your poison. I cannot believe the trash heavy insulation randomly inserts into the signal path does not deterio...

Points well taken, Bob. As an example that supports your observations, I just installed Sonicap Platinum bypass caps, and like what they have done. My speaker cables are short. I have found SC and IC insulation pollutes the signal significantly. I...

R times 8manThanks my man!! Ain't life wonderful? Pedal to the metal here......
Class-D amps - a different re view
This is a lot different than responses to similar questions as little as a year ago. I love it when we get the usual tried it all and found only solid state is three dimensional. What was your attending equipment? The rules have changed. Wires, pr...
Class-D amps - a different re view
There are module in a box ICE amps, millions. That is why they developed a good digital power supply. Although some versions of ICE ASP modules do make it into fancy boxes intended for the Hi Fi set, they tend to pass by the wayside. B&O does ...
Class-D amps - a different re view
Phd, wanting "body" in your playback is, of course, a valid desire. Big AB amps are the best for that. Class A breaks down the body into mellow details. Tubes take the dissection further. You simply hear more of what is recorded. Great class D wil...
