insurance and shipping with UPS
Wow ... kqvkq9 actually takes the time to make a very informed, lengthy and relevant post and spin4cards calls him names and hurls uncalled for insults.1. I hope the moderator does take out the trash (spin4cards)2. If the moderator doesn’t take do...
Like the new look to audiogon ?
Couldn’t agree more, guys .... these changes are a DISASTER!I HATE, HATE, HATE the stupid keyhole look. Only an idiot could have designed this AND thought anyone would like it!Ive been a member over 15 years with 120 buy/sells .... I’m going to us...
Pathos and Dynaudio
I agree with Czarivey. I have owned the Pathos and it doesn't have the power or authority to drive the C4's properly (unless it is a very small room and you like to listen at low levels)
Looking to hear from Thor owners
Mcpherson.....just thought I would give an update on another potential speaker match. I was able to buy a pair of the TPA-30's (locally for great price)....had a pair of them before, but sold to get more power. Now I'm back because I couldn't get ...
Looking to hear from Thor owners
Hi Jayson,With the TPA-30's I used SAP Audio Quartettes. They are not very well known, only a few retailers, but they are made in Italy and are beautifully crafted speakers. They were made for lower powered amps (espcially tubes) and were a wonder...
Tube Preamp/solid pwr amp or solid pre/ tube pwr
My personal preference, after years of enjoying a large selection of tube and ss components, is a tube pre and a solid state amp. I tend to spend the most money on my preamp and have found that top end tube pre's have been extraordinarily quiet wh...
Looking to hear from Thor owners
Hi Guys,Just saw the recent thread and thought I would throw in my two cents (about ugrading to higher power amps). I have a TA-1000 Mk 2 preamp, TA-3000 Mk 2 phono amp and used to have the TPA-30's. Of course, they all sounded great together, but...
Thor TA-1000 MK 2 pre and Aleph amps Os, 2, 5
Hi Bob,I used to live in Naperville but moved to Tinley Park a few years ago (but still in the greater Chicagoland area). I really like the Thor linestage, probably the one component that has not changed in the last 6 years or so, but if I do deci...

My Final Amplifier Purchase - What Would You Buy?
I currently own Canary Audio CA-160 (switchable..100 watts triode or 140 ultralinear) tube monoblocks and they have been a favorite for years. I have seen them used on Audiogon in your price range.I have used them with Avalon Radian speakers (simi...
Exact power.....hookup question
NsGarch and Bill_K......thanks for the posts. Looks like I will use them independently with seperate outlets. Based on what I have read it is generally better to hook up the source components to the SP-15a and my tube monoblock amps to the EP-15a....
Exact Power....sp-15 or ultrapure?
Nsgarch.....you hit the nail on the head! The first duplex is exactly as you described, so it must be the SP-15a. Mine doesn't have the tag or model #, not sure if it came off or was an early model. Thanks again for your help, as this will assist ...
Exact Power....sp-15 or ultrapure?
Larryken....thanks for your reply. I really do like my EP-15a as well. From my research all the EP-15a's had the window which show the voltage, mine does not, it is just a plain silver face, so I'm not sure if it's the SP-15a or Ultrapure (both of...

Hey guys (Fedreams, Teajay and Jeffreyb) many thanks for your posts and perspectives!Teajay......first of all, NL-10 amps, VERY NICE!!! (I'm jealous!) I was looking at one of the other Sig 1's on Audiogon and hate to talk with Neli or Mike unless ...
