| Any DIYer s out there ? Sean, where is John Risches site? I am getting ready to move and want to get some ideas for sound absorption to tweak the new room. | |
| Separate Components I am fortunate enough to have a dealer that has a small room filled with used equipment. Some of it is crap, some of it is actually nice stuff. I picked up my ARC LS-15 out of that room, I could not have afforded it new. I still think it is wrong ... | |
| Logans and Heavy Metal? Actually not with them, but on the same bus playing with another band. | |
| Logans and Heavy Metal? Sean, guess it is just a difference of our definition of "metal". I noticed you listed Entombed. Nice guys, toured for a month or so with them back in 92 before going on to a day job. | |
| Separate Components I agree with Docwarnock about the listening to as many things as you can. But not on the part about then buying them used. Do not go and take up your local high end dealers time with no intention of buying anything from him, if everyone did this h... | |
| I opened both MIT and Transparent netwks Mike, DO NOT LET TROY borrow your cables!!! Kelly, make sure and wear your earplugs and safety glasses. | |
| Logans and Heavy Metal? If rage is not "heavy" what is? Plenty of low high impact stuff, so I think it is a good test irregardless of whether it is actually old school "heavy metal". | |
| Logans and Heavy Metal? Sean,You are corrent about getting away with it at more reasonable levels but I have not been able to arc the panels yet. That is with a Proceed HPA2 cranked up to around 2:00 They just start to get congested at the higher volumes. I usually do no... | |
| Logans and Heavy Metal? I use ML aerius i. At lower levels (around 85db) the heavy metal sounds fine.(Tool,Metalica,Rage,Q.O.T.S.A. etc.) There is low end, but not the kind that is going to slam you into the back wall. It depends on what you are looking for. Placement is... | |
| How much time do u spend listening. Thanks guys, I hopefully A'gon will be able to do something about the lone negative voter before too long before it cuts in to our listening time any further. | |
| Home theater advice? I will second Beemer on the Aerial. I don't have them, but I sure wish I did !!! I believe Sound Anchors makes some really nice stands for them also. | |
| ARC LS25 MK II - VT 100 MK III I.C.sug I use LS-15 and Aerius i , ( proceed hpa2 amp ) and the Transparent Ultra is everything you just asked for. Of course this is all a "taste thing" so try them out if you can. Good luck with your search. | |
| Levinson upgrades vs factory original The dealer I spoke with stated that the upgrade is the same as a 380s in every way, no difference at all. Just like Bmolloy says. But he said it can be done for slightly less money, maybe around 500.00 ??? if you don't change the face plate. But a... | |
| ElectrostatsPlaner/Ribbon s Vs Cone driv Comchenry, I had the ML's and Maggies ( I forget which model, around $1400 ) at home to compare over a weekend. I ended up with the Logans because of constraints on placement. The ML's have a much smaller footprint. As far as the sound goes, I was... | |
| ARC LS-15, thumbs up or down? Mrderrick, I checked out my pre, it has a real low hum also. Must be normal. Happy listening |
