| Do we really need anything more than 8" woofer and 1" tweeter for medium size room? My monitors have a 7" mated to a 1" and I have all the bass I need. It helps that my room is about 10’ X 15’ so I get very usable bass down to the mid 30Hzs. It’s only down 4-6 dbs by then so I can clearly hear and feel it. Just ask my neighbors. ... | |
| Difference between Schiit Modi Versions Schiit may not comment to you directly but in reviews they clearly state their preference for Multibit and kinda hate Delta-Sigma for what they say it does to the signal. Like George says, go for the Multibit. All the best,Nonoise | |

| Veblen Audio Goods Since they're marketed to the well heeled, taste notwithstanding, maybe something like Vulgar Audio would sell. It's the lowest denominator I could think of, ripe for these times. All the best,Nonoise | |

| Recommendation for Improvement over McCormack DNA-225 Looking at your speakers shows they're relatively flat out to and beyond what you can hear. | Anticables speaker wire have no plastic jacket/insulation? Mapleshade has been making a similar product long before Anti-Cables offered theirs. Same principle: enamel coating of the wire but they only come with silver coated bare ends. I believe Pierre Sprey got the idea when working in England on some m... | |
| Hi-Fi TV? There used to be a radio HiFi show but it went the way of the do-do due to lack of public support. | |
| Marantz and Stereophile? A cynical way of looking at it would be that if Marantz were to get a hearty recommendation from a major rag, the competition for our dollars would get a lot stiffer in an already crowded field of competitors. All the best,Nonoise | |
| Marantz and Stereophile? Count me in for being a bit jealous as well. I love my PM-15S2b and wouldn't trade it. There is so much it does right. All the best,Nonoise | |
| filters on speaker cables It could very well be the way your room interacts with the speakers is causing your excess bass (if I read that correctly) and anything you do to the cables will be for naught. I have monitors that "only" reach down to the low 40s but I can measur... | |

| Want to hire NAS expert That's not a bad idea. Also, any big company would have IT staff that could easily fix your problem as well as a well rated computer repair shop. Check out some yelp reviews. Side jobs are appreciated in this economy. :-)All the best,Nonoise | |
| Cable Controversy Psag, it's all system dependent. It's a great goal to come up with something that won't hurt the signal but isn't that the goal of most cable makers? There's no magic bullet of a cable that can be all things to suit everyone's needs. Simply changi... | |
| New Room (from House to Apt) advice wanted on minimizing complaints Yes, it's the bass that people hear far more than anything else. I know because I can hear my neighbors bass and not much else. If you can't afford the additional dry wall, one way is to hang heavy rugs directly behind your speakers. You can get c... |
