SACD Firmware issues?
I have the Sony SCD 777es and have NEVER had a disc that would not play.
Markering of CD Edges
I had the CD stoplight and used it for a while, but have gotten away from it over the last several years. It seemed to improve the sound on some discs while doing nothing on others. I have never had it detract from the sound of a CD, but I'm not s...
When audiophiles visit for a listening session
Steve the light is on! Where are you. I suppose I better warm a spot for Pragmatist.FWIW I enjoy the response more than writing the story, but Cello said it first, what's with the implications that this is not true???
Looking for a great arm that is low maintenence
Doug and others, other than the recommendation for the SME because Sota uses it a lot, do any of you think one of these arms will be appreciably better than the others with my Cosmos and ZYX Airy 3 combination?

sirspeedy - I'm leaning toward the TriPlaner, but you mentioned that TriPlaner does not appear to have dealt with the issues that concerned you during your experience. How concerned do I need to be about that. It's tough to make the choice since al...

It can help, but there is no difinative answer. AND you can trust me on that one, I'm honest, as my feedback indicates. If my AudiogoN feedback doesn't convince you, check my feedback on Ebay.

Narrod how would you characterize the differences between the SME IV and the TriPlaner? After a little more research I have decided to drop the Graham from the list of choices.
Ridge Street Audio Speakers
Howard - I used to be involved in a local audio group where Robert auditioned his speakers. There were a number of problems with the room, not the least of which was the size of the room and the amount of static in the air. The room was painfully ...
does more power=better quality ?
pbb I will be up there in three weeks, do you want to get together?
Tube bias and related ramblings very exciting
Unless I hear anything different I will follow 123henry97's advice. This is my first try at something like this so any advice is appreciated.
does more power=better quality ?
No, it never has. I have heard many 200 wpc amps that sounded extremely different from one another, but there was a time when 200 wpc was the peak of what could be had. Some of those amps sounded no better than many of their lower powered counterp...
Flattening warped lp's with Seal dry mount press
It occurs to me that the record flattening machine I saw at ces was just two glass platters, but I could be wrong. The obvious solution to your cooling issue is CRYO! Nothing 'audiophile' works if it's not cryo'd
