| Has anyone tried the new McIntosh CD changer? I look forward to reading the comments of people who have actually heard the piece. In the meantime I did a little research about the transport mechanism. It is Nakamichi's 'Music Bank' system. If you have a dealer that carries any of Nak's stuff ... | |
| McIntosh MA 6500 I have listened to both. They are both fantastic pieces. They do sound different. Two things I heard that were genuinely different were the way each amp handled bass and the way each amp handled human voices. They were different, and I believe man... | |
| McIntosh MA 6500 Not aware of any reviews. I have heard both this one and the 6900. There was a thread about these two integrateds here at audiogon about onemonth ago....check it out. Great features, incredible build quality, very smooth, non fatiguing sound. Good... | |
| Has anyone tried the new McIntosh CD changer? Are they really making a new changer? Did you see it somewhere, and if so, where? Thanks, | |
| Sony SCD-333ES HELP Many thanks to all the constructive and informed opinions offerred about my questions and concerns! | |
| Sony SCD-333ES HELP Now I am considering something really different. Forget the mods, forget the outboard DAC. If I did all the mods and still bought an outboard upsampling/interpolating DAC, I would spend as much as I would if I bought a used Sony SCD-1, which appea... | |
| Beyond SACD with Redbook: Price No Object I have tried to read every post on this thread and have tried to come to some conclusion. I am in a similar position to the original author of this thread. I beleive that new digital recordings that are designed for SACD likely produce the best so... | |
| My New Bel Canto DAC 2 Understood. So you must have one of Bel Canto's preamps? If so which one? | |
| My New Bel Canto DAC 2 Are the power cords you upgraded too going into the DAC or elsewhere? I'll be curious to hear what difference it makes....Thanks for your thorough review and comments... | |
| My New Bel Canto DAC 2 Now that you have had your player for a week, are you still enjoying it? I will be interested in your reviews after the dust settles a bit and you are living with your new DAC day in and day out. Maybe one month from now....... | |
| NEED HELP CHOOSING NEW DAC Price range will determine part of your question. I think you should listen to the new upsampling DAC technologies from Perp. Tech., Musical Fidelity, MSB, or Bel Canto. If you have lots of rebook CD's I think an upsampling DAC is the way to go. | |
| Horrific Confession And Puzzling Questions If your comfortable then your okay. Try to take care of your dics better. I think the suggestion of a multidisc player is a good one.To me, I knew I landed on the right combination of components when I stopped, on a regular basis that is, changing... | |
| Should I stick to the same manufaturer? Get a new CD player or an outboard dac (like the Bel Canot DAC 2 or MF dac) if your player has digital outs. Maybe change cable too. The other stuff is nice. | |
| Has Anyone Compared the 2 McIntosh Integrateds? Even though I clearly favored the 6900 in my listening session with the B&W, I want to make one qualification (which goes for most any hi-fi set-up): depending on your speakers and room acoustics, there could be reasons for preferring the soun... | |
| Has Anyone Compared the 2 McIntosh Integrateds? A difference there is! I drove 80 miles to a dealer that had them both on display. I first listened to the 6500 driving a pair of B&W Nautilus (the $3600 ones). I don't much like these speakers but they told me what I needed to know. The 6500 ... |
