| bookshelf speaker Earthquake for $2k you could easily get floor standers if desired? if you really want bookshelves that budget will really buy you some nice ones. I had some thoughts but I notice that you want them by the wall so my ideas blow. Looks like front po... | |
| Do Old CD Players Require Servicing Like Amps? one minor note. lasers are not all the same. the fail rate is, all things equal, a function of output power. More output, faster to fail. Systems that are read only and simple as possible will last the longest (read, many thousands of hours. maybe... | |
| Paradigm Studio 10 or Monitor 7 V 5? Studios if paradigm is your brand. the monitors are OK but to me they sounded a bit harsh and (can I say crunchy??) not as smooth. If not comitted to studios $1k will find lots of nice speakers (totem and era leap to mind from my recent review exp... | |
| JL Audio f112 or f113 sub? now that makes lots more sense. I was coming from the place where the output just doubled and I was living in a tent by my wreckage. | |
| your reference dvd Sort of depends on what you want to demonstrate right? For me to show all around sound and its emotional impact I 2nd The Dark Knight. To scare folks with my sub Nothing beats the last hour of the Matrix-Revelations (aka Matrix 3) | |

| JL Audio f112 or f113 sub? I'm not the most experienced fellow on here but I gotta laugh at the idea of two F112's in the same room. Mine knocks crap off shelves on the other side of the house, turns my wifes closet door into a giant passive radiator for base in her office,... | |
| Peachtree Nova Speakers While I think about it the Totem's (Mites and the next model up in size) sound very nice as well. Not to dis the Paradigms I found the ERA and Totem models a distinct improvement to my ears over the Titans and Studio 20's. | |
| Peachtree Nova Speakers why not try out the ERA D4 speakers. Made by the same guys. I have D4's and they are very, very good. If you get a Nova I'll bet they'll let you demo a D4 setup. Have a look at the rosewood veneer as well. | |
| I have $2000 to spend on speakers. Have a look at the ERA D14 series. On the low end it shakes my couch with the right music. Veneers are flat beautiful and well matched. My wife like the looks enough that she not only was OK with them out from the wall but grills off as well. I wo... |
