Hugh Masekela Listeners Out There ?
Stimela is a favourite test track for me and the music is way cool! I have an old LP of his that I bought thirty odd years ago and one cd. Maybe I should get more since Masekela is quite good indeed.
Cable Elevators
Oh it's silly season again!
KAB modded Technics 1210
Seems things have gone full circle (no not of Wilson-Benesch fame!), as I remember a time when anyone who owned a Technics was treated like a pariah for having a direct drive turntable. I remember giving mine away to my brother-in-law when I bough...
product you use for dusting equipment
Those yellow flannel rags sold for shining shoes.
Suggestions for stretching turntable belts?
I remember buying two belts (or was it three?) from different sources for an AR ETL ONE and not one of them worked properly. I wouldn't be surprised if there is quite a bit of hit or miss with aftermarket belts and can only suggest you try one out...
Has anyone added a second belt to their VPI Scout
If you want two belts get a Rega P-9!

Direct-to-Disk, Yeah, Baby

New analog system disappoints, please help
Expectations are a bummer aren't they? I wish people would stop with "blowing away" language. The differences between good quality well-functioning components and the differences between good or great analog vs. good or great digital are more subt...
Audiophiles vs DIY-o-philes
Not that word "emotion" again! Look, the electrons don't care much for that kind of stuff. I admire those knowledgeable enouhg to be DIYers. You will find them on AA. More power to them!
Anyone use a hockey puck as a record weight?
Wouldn't the stick make a better tonearm than a record weight? For lower mass, one of the new graphite composite sticks would be good. They come in a range of colours and imagine how small the offset error is with a nice long arm, let's say about f...
