How Much DC is OK on a Power Line?
Oh - and the question still remains - how much DC offset is problematic on an AC line for equipment?
How Much DC is OK on a Power Line?
By the way, I'm using an Environmental Potentials home surge protector / conditioner as discussed inthis thread. As it is on a breaker, I can take it out of the system.

Thanks Gbart. I'm using Classe Omega amplifiers. I just measured my outlet for DC, and am seeing about 200 mv. I had an air compressor plugged in that night, and maybe it went on and the motor increased my outlet DC?
Any Environment Potentials EP-2050 users out there
I have one hooked up to my breaker box. Easy to install, that's a plus. I can't say I noticed any auditory difference. I'm glad to have the whole house surge protection, but I do note that they don't offer a guarantee like other surge protection s...
Amplifier for Jordan JX92S Transmission Lines
What about a Pass F5 clone? Would that be enough power?
What other power devices change 120V in to 100V
I bought an oversized stepdown transformer off the web - i don't recall where my research took me - but it provided way more power than the amplifier needed - and it worked just fine.
Entertainment for Tonight
Seattle audiences are renouned for their standing ovations, on almost everything!!! Not to say it wasn't deserved, but that's just the way it is around here. Perhaps it's associated with the extreme courtesyousnous of the Seattlites. Where did you...
$500 Digital Source to Complete $2K Bedroom System
Not impressed with the Quad. I had it for a while. What about a PS Audio digi link iii for $500 and a very cheap CDP for transport, and then rip all your music so you're mostly listenting to the squeezebox?

How critical is the 60 to 50 hz part? Is this for a turntable motor? If it's for an amplifier, I'm not sure it matters, in which case you could just get an oversized step-down transformer...
need some help with J River and a new pc
Lev - if you don't want to get into what file structure (or actually directory structure) is, you're doing the right thing by converting to FLAC. Just make sure you have enough space on your hard drive to make the full conversion. But - if you are ...
need some help with J River and a new pc
Yes, WAV files are a problem because they are not tagged with information. What program were you using to manage music on your old PC? Kthomas is right - if you were using Jriver and you employ the exact same directory struture, and if you can cop...

Cool! I heard it at Benaroya for the first time this two days ago, and it was great! A beautiful lush peice that made musical sense - that is, I felt myself aligning with the music. I'd never heard the Saint Saens before, so I heard it with new ea...
Would this room work?
What about removing the drywall from the ceiling joists, filling with sound absorptive insulation, and then using acoustic cloth across that. Seems to me that you are very limited in height dimension, so it would be better to build your treatment ...
Amplifier for Jordan JX92S Transmission Lines
Thanks, I'll give one a try - likely wait until one comes up used. BTW - do they have any propensity towards humming? I would likely leave it on 24/7, and wouldn't want an amplifier that would impart noise to the bedroom environment.
Amplifier for Jordan JX92S Transmission Lines
Thanks Jim. Is that considered a Class D amplifier? I've got the following amp already at home, built by Tim Rawsone:"Built with the 'AD' version of the Hypex ucd180 module. A fast, rich open sound, with no grain or midrange glare. The power suppl...
