Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable
Spiritofmusic, It seems to me that the Salvation is a solution to the turntable's main target: to be a neutral platform. Raul says a turntable (and arm) need to serve the needs of the cartridge, first and foremost. The fact that your turntable/arm...
Kuzma 4 point and SME 20
Interesting. His comments are now seen in a new light. What products does he sell? Audiooracle, would you like to rejoin the conversation and share your recommendations?
European Vibraplane?
Sorry that I was less than clear in my post. I am referring to the CM225 low profile isolators with built in leveling valves. They need a compressor and can support 60 lbs each for 240 lbs total. If the turntable is 100 lbs, then a steel slab is a...
Kuzma 4 point and SME 20
Audiooracle, have you heard the SME 20 with different arms in a familiar system in order to be able to isolate the sound of the table itself from the SME V arm? I take it from your comments that you want a table to impart some kind of sonic signat...
European Vibraplane?
Those compact, low profile units would seem best for low shipping costs to EU. Just put them under a steel ballast plate (obtained locally) to get the total load close to the max. design load and that could be a very nice solution with a quiet com...
European Vibraplane?
I have three 24"X20" Vibraplanes from SOS (Sounds of Silence). Two of the units are active (requiring a compressor) and one is passive (bicycle pump). I did try two used units found on Ebay for $350-500. THEY DID NOT WORK. I tried to use parts fro...
Cardas test lp version 2
With the "Ultimate Analogue Test LP" and the Fozgometer instructions, there is an additional test for channel balance. It uses an out of phase mono track and the Foz device registers the "center channel" light. If the meter reads "0", then the lef...
Cardas test lp version 2
Doug, that seems like excellent advice. I would add the following as potentially helpful: If the recording of that solo voice or instrument is in a dead space, it should sound life like in scale with no sounds (distortion), or exaggerated size out...
Shout out to Syntax - re: Delos
Where can we read information about Daniel's tonearm? That's good news as I did not know it was finished. I've been anticipating this arm as well as Raul's arm for a couple of years. There seems to be a lot going on with arm designs these days. Th...
Isolation Platform from Timber Nation
They may be attractive and solid platforms, but for proper isolation, get something designed for lab equipment like a Vibraplane. These wooden shelves tune and alter the sound, in my experience.
AFFORDABLE HIGH VFM RACKS - Opinions Please...
I just sold my Zoethecus rack. It was OK, but a bit wobbly because it was tall and had a very heavy turntable on it. I also tried Mapleshade brass footers and the cork/rubber feet and one of their 4" maple slabs. Did very little for vibration isol...

I have had a few superb dealer demos at Goodwins Highend in Boston. Much better than anything I heard at the two audio shows that I've attended. Seek out a good dealer with good rooms and you will get a good idea of what these speakers can do.
Shout out to Syntax - re: Delos
I read that he has the parts to make five arms. They may be all spoken for. If they each sold for the $35K retail price, that would be quite impressive. There are also the new Phantom Elite 12" and Triplanar 12". Love the screensaver. Does it come...
Shout out to Syntax - re: Delos
Yes, Syntax, there's much buzz over on WhatsBestForum about this arm. If you have heard it, could you describe the sound on a new thread? They are comparing it you the Phantom and reports are grim. I'm sure the OP is sleeping well enjoying his Delos.

I'm in the Boston area and you are welcome to hear my Mini 2's. I will add that a store demo of the V2 was for me the best in store demo I had ever heard of a music system. I ended up buying the Mini 2s because I found them to be a bit more cohere...
