Emerald Physics CS-2, Opinions Please
I agree as well John. But, that said to get that 1000Hz down from the SET (IMHO) always required a horn bass. Which was big as a refrigerator and not very practical. Plus, the fact that a two way design with a passive crossover will suck up some w...
Emerald Physics CS-2, Opinions Please
Well, I couldn't stand by anymore. The CS 2s are a godsend for me as they work very well with my SET amps on the treble. I've owned more speakers than I care to mention. Forgotten more than most people have a chance to hear.Ranging from $2000.00 t...
Do any speakers image/sound-stage close to walls?
I'm surprised at the respones saying you'll be fine. Fact is all speakers (exceptions Klispch korner horn)will do better at least 30" from the front wall and sides or corners.
Why do amps sound different?
Amps are like ice cream flavors. I agree with most threads here but, amps embellish certain freq. ranges to tickle our ears. We like what we like! Most really nuetral amps don't sell that well.
Tube amps good with Emerald Physics CS2 speakers?
The amps are after the DSP. Listen to them is all I can say.
Tube amps good with Emerald Physics CS2 speakers?
Shakey, I hear ya. And believe me I've been there and done that. I was one of those simple, purest approach myself. If my tonearm could have been wired to my speaker terminals and made sweet music then that's how I would have had it. But, this tech...
Tube amps good with Emerald Physics CS2 speakers?
You guys are going to love them! I've used a PX4 SET,Decware 2watt SET,300B SET,and 2a3 P/P amps and they all drove the speaker just fine. The speakers are an amp microscope. They will make differences in amps the most noticable than you've ever h...
Robert & Alison-Raising Sand
I think the recording is so rich and filled with harmonic complexity that most systems reproduce it as being a poor recording(which it's not). It's not the best recording by any means but, it ain't that bad. It reminds me of my Elvis Costello Alle...
Legacy focus 20 20 speakers
I've been standing by on this one. But, I must chime in. I've never in 30 years of this audio journey heard any speaker that didn't benefit from a sub. Exceptions being Vandersteens or some other powered bass speaker and even most of them still ne...
Shelby Lynne
I second CMO's suggestion of Loretta Lynns "Van Lear rose" It's the biggest surprises I've encountered in a while! Sounds like some Grateful Dead,Ryan Adams combo. Killer record! Almost puts Mick Jagger to shame! Never thought the queen of Country...
Speaker Choice for Almarro 318B
If your budget must stay below $1000.00 then it's going to be hard to fill that order. You could get a pair of Decware MG 94s and maybe add a sub or look into what AV 123 has to offer. 18 watts will drive 90db speakers plenty loud as long as their...
Classical speakers that do violins well??
Save another $1000.00 and get the Emerald Pyhsics CS2!
Music Reference vs. Quicksilver
The Quickies will be much warmer and tubey in a classic since. The Music Reference will be more nuetral. It all depends on your current system, room, and music taste.
How Long to Burn-In Western Electric 300Bs?
IMHO, about 250 hrs is what you can hear. 500 hrs may be the true time for 100% break-in but, as far as what you can detect, the first 30 hrs will be the most noticable from then on it gets less noticable as the time rolls on. Enjoy your WEs. They ...

Roll some different powercords and more tubes.
