Hooking up 2 amps to one set of speakers
I agree with Martykl as well. I was hoping to not have to swap cables, but outside of an amp with HT Bypass, this is the only option outside of adding a switch. I am not willing to accept the sonic trade off adding one.thanks again.
Hooking up 2 amps to one set of speakers
I am glad I asked. It seems pretty clear that this option is completely out of the question. Thanks for your responses.
Needed subwoofer Recommendations.
although I agree with Gary about HSU, I would like to add that I have owned both the HSU VTF-3 and the HSU VTF-2 Mk 3. The latter a later revision of the HSU VTF-3. The HSU VTF-2 Mk 3 has bass extension that goes considerably deeper and has vastly...
Swans Swan D2.1SE and M1
I heard them last night. I am astounded by how good they sound for their price. A friend of mine was shopping for speakers in the $4K to $7K price range. He listened extensively to many speakers. After hearing how great they were (from the AVS for...
Beveridge 2SW-1 Electrostatics
Hello,I am the owner of the Beveridge System 3's. Rick Beveridge (son of Harold) has opened up shop again. Check out http://www.Beveridge-Audio.com ... there is a small but apparently thriving Beveridge community still around.Paul
Dead 83-yr old sued by recording industry
although it is not right to copy anything copywrited material, it is hard to have too much sympathy for the RIAA. when you read of the tons of cases where they use and abuse the music artists. I was amazed at how little the music artist gets for r...
Building your own enclosures
I recently heard a pair of Brines Acoustics FT1600 Mk II's. These were manufactured speakers that retailed for $900 plus shipping. They are also available as 'flats' (precut cablinet sections ready for gluing) and pre-assembled cabinets or just th...
DK Design Group X-Dream - wow
I am trying to think of a way to make a cardboard casting of the mold, then fill it with Quickcrete. That oughta get them to weigh at least 350 lbs apeice for under $10. Then, just add a few drivers and there ya have it, a clone at least as heavy ...
Sacd/dvd-a, The Hype Is Dead, For Me At Least...
I have been holding off on the new formats waiting for the clear industry standard to emerge. I am still waiting many years later. What would be great for us audiofools is to have a simple 2 channel CD recording that uses 96K with the end result b...
Best bargain integrated amp?
I own several amps and a standout at your price range would be the Audio Refinement Complete integrated amp. about 45 watts. I am surprised it has not been recommended up till now on this thread.
Need Help Choosing A Subwoofer
Tgrisham,I also own a Hsu VTF3 and am quite happy with it. How does Hsu in your opinion compare to REL? Hsu's seem to be a better value... I am assuming that REL is a bit better at a significantly higher price... Is this a fair statement?thanks, Paul
VTL vs Jolida
Jon, I own the ML SL3's. sorry that I did not respond earlier, have not seen this post in a while. as to how much power they need? In my experience, they do not need nearly as much power as most seem to imply. I have found that 30 (tube) Watts mak...
VTL vs Jolida
Hi Jon,Between the B&W 703s vs Martin Logan's. This is at least as drastic as SS and tube amps. I own the Logans' and love them. I compared them long term to the B&W 604/S2's which I believe are somewhat similar to the 703s. To me, the Log...
Someone please explain the logic of upgrades
I have studied mods that involve about $30 worth of parts that allegedly make a unit, in this case a CDP, that make it comparable to a unit costing thousands. One must wonder why the manufacture does not do. It would probably cost them no more tha...
UPS strikes again
I often ship (from work) via FedEx. when a Priortiy package is not received at the guaranteed delivery time (typically 10 am) a full refund is given upon request. While I agree in the grand scheme of current world events that this seems trivial, y...
