| Thiel CS6 Compared with Eggleston Andra 1 Hi Alan2, sorry about your woofer. Though it does sound like a DIY project and you can avoid shipping it! A simple desolder and solder in the new driver, I have done it before, not on Thiel, but another speaker.Curious, why not just put in a new o... | |
| New cartridge - Benz Micro or Ortofon Cadenza? Mulveling you make a good point "a touch of warmth, which I consider to sound very natural."I like that as well, the only hesitation I have with cartridges is the inability to hear in your system, on your table with your tonearm, in your room. So ... | |
| New cartridge - Benz Micro or Ortofon Cadenza? Markmendenhall congrats on the ortofon bronze. I have heard it on 2 very expensive systems at audio shows and it did not disappoint. I have been using a Jubilee for several years and love it. If I stay in the ortofon line, which I most likely will... | |

| Record cleaning fluids I second AVIS, been using it for years. Seems to do the job. | |
| My most memorable ROCK moment Slaw...excellent way to start the thread! I also saw the master Mr. Trower in 2012 in a small venue.....WOW! Many classics played including my 2 favs fool in me and little bit of sympathy....incredible. | |
| I'm now a Cardas Woman. I used to be a Kimber gal @Audiolab......I would put some money on that if we are all betting. It's not that the loom won't work and when you first put those cables in it will be a revelation and kick the sound up a notch for sure. But, will it get old and how long can you... | |
| Beatles Tribute Tv special.... Hideous, a slam to the legacy IMO....cover bands rarely work but a whole night of them is tough....give it up. Tribute to network grabbing money and the Beatles cashing in also....gross. | |
| Removing Morch DP-6 tonearm wires from cartridge I agree with Stringreen - I have pulled out a solder joint on a clip before, had to resolder, not the end of the world but a hassle. Not trying to make you nervous but the less you handle the less likely you run into a problem...good luck. | |
| I'm now a Cardas Woman. I used to be a Kimber gal Jmcgrogan2....appreciate that :-) | |
| I'm now a Cardas Woman. I used to be a Kimber gal @Jmcgrogan2 you and I agree on this so it must be! You make a great point about length not having anything to do with it but instead flaws inherit in the design. I am just not very smart - I have tried it and spent some money in the process and it... | |
| I'm now a Cardas Woman. I used to be a Kimber gal Sounds like Elizabeth was going for a loom of Cardas - looms have never worked for me and I tried with several brands including Kimber, Tara, MIT and PAD. And you always think if it sounds this good more must be better! Never worked for me...My la... | |
| Coincident Statement RC Preamp You guys are so stoking my curiosity. I have a coincident phono preamp in mind....and you are spot on with the availability of great equipment at reasonable pricing. You just have to tear yourself away from the big box companies...a case in point ... | |
| I'm now a Cardas Woman. I used to be a Kimber gal Elizabeth - you are doing the right thing....go back to Kimber, if your 7 meter isn't broken in now it will never happen! Pluse even if it changes don't expect much! In my experience.... | |
| Stand out phono stages I second that Jtsnead, I spent a lot of time with the owner and his phono pre at an audio show and it sounded very nice - simple, well built and not over engineered.I have considered getting one but really do prefer tubes. |
