I had my Porter Ports installed by an electrician because I wasn't sure if I had a ground wire since I was using two prong outlets. I'm glad i did because he told me one of the outlets was wired wrong creating a hot ground. Any way what the Porter...

Get a stereophile test CD either 1,2,3,4. They all have in - phase out of- phase test signals.
AC line conditioners
When I first started to get into stereo my main objective was to hopefully re create the recording as faithfuly as I could to what was laid down in the recording studio or the live event.Around 3 weeks ago on Jonesy's Jukebox Jonesy (Steve Jones/G...
Undiscovered blues gems.....
Mitch Kashmar's "Nickels and Dimes" with jr. Watson on guitar really tears it up. This cd sounds like you took a right turn into the 60's and landed in a blues bar in the Windy City. This CD is great and i play it at least once a week when I'm pay...

If your looking for a tuner then check here on Agon. Look most people on this board are very anal when it comes to their equipment. At the very least something on here may have to be cleaned inside but the money you would save buying used is consi...

Recommendations on a passive preamp
I have the Adcom 750 and I like it. It is a Nelson Pass MOSFET design and is a Stereophile Class A rated pre. Since you have an Adcom already you might get a little since of Synergy using them together. I've seen them here and on Ebay going for 75...
Looking for music that features congas, timbalis,
Try Don Tiki. The second CD "Skinny Dip" has more polynesian percussian than the first "The Forbidden Tales of Don Tiki" but the first album is a better offering. In my system it is of reference quality.
Vandersteen 3a Sigs, McCormack DNA 125, preamp?
What price range?
Leaning towards tubes, but need help long
It's not about wattage when it comes to getting real sound levels. Current is what can make a 50 watt amp have the growl or bass presence to sound like your in the hall with the orchestra. Unless your pre has a loudness contour to boost bass level...
New David Gilmour record:any feedback?
Pink Floyd turned down 250 million to regroup and tour after their charity show. The remaining group had to endure lawsuits from Waters and I think they feel they just don't need him. Let's give credit to Rick Wright too, he contributed to alot of...
New David Gilmour record:any feedback?
Dan ed I'm swimming with you on this one too. I prefer Floyd when Gilmour came aboard. This CD reminds me more of The Division Bell in that it's material is not as strong as A Momentary Lapse of Reason.
Opinions on Todd Rundgren fronting the New Cars?
Maybe Ocasek is still in the band and Todd is replacing the late Benjamin Orr. Ric's early album were quite good,Beauitude was very good and the Emotions in Motion was great too.
