Rogers LS3/5a question
My response is not to recommend an amplifier. You have received a number of good ideas. I want to reinforce not exceeding the 50W maximum power handling. I auditioned the Rogers in 1977 finding the sound wonderful! The seller, an audio engineer, d...
Thiel CS2
Agree with dlcockrum and rcprince. I've owned Thiel CS2's since 1986. Auditioned Vandersteen 2Ce finding them overall a bit "restrained." Nice sound but not as engaging.
Thiel CS2
Well said unsound.
Thiel CS2
Welcome to Thiel ownership. Bought my CS2's in 1987. One of my best ever audio purchases. Drive them with a Hafler 9180 mosfet amp. Sound is accurately and completely described by rcprince and oblgny. As with most all speakers I guess room placemen...
901 series 2 speakers
Heard them briefly in the '70's and was not impressed. I liked their look. Diffuse sound stage and bass not defined or strong. There is a lot of useful analysis of their sonic abilities here.

The awful truth about CDs, do they have the same shelve life as LP's ?
I had only two of my CD collection "loose" parts of a few tracks. Yup some music disappeared. All the rest are fine.
Thiel 2.3 amplification
My Thiel CS2's sound wonderful thru my old mosfet Hafler 9180.
Opinions on Thiel CS2?
I bought my Thiel CS2's in 1987 or 88 for $1500 the pair. Used them ever since. All above comments/observations are accuratee in some way or another.I have always use solid state to run them, Bryston too bright, Hafler just right! Program material...

Thiel Owners
I'd like to add my vintage Thiel CS 2's to this conversation. :) Bought these babies in 1986. They still bring the luscious, warm, clean sound...Very easy to listen to for hours at a time. Run them with mid-fi components: Hafler 9180, Philips CD 8...
Best Component Ever, for the money
Hafler 9180 amp. A big step up from my Bryston 2B.
How many pair of speakers do you own?
I have two pair. Dan D'Agostino designed satellite/sub system and Thiel CS2. Well behind many of you owning multiple sets. I am jealous!:) Budget and spouse allowing (there's the rub), I would buy more. Hooked on audio since 1975.
Amps which are Great, but either Unknown or Underpriced
My Hafler 9180 has served me well for over 20 years. My Dan D'Agostino designed Point Three satellite/sub system and Thiel CS2's showcase it's qualities.
Amplifiers:A Keeper for Life. Do you know of one ?
Hafler 9180. Had it since 1993. Seems to accurately reproduce music. Easy to listen to for hours, any program material.
