Running kt88's in a audiovalve Challanger 180 monoblocks will give you 180 watts (auto bias,can run el34,6550 and kt88's).

I would think the dunlavy scV or scVI would pressurize andfill the room with no problem;they are excellant speakers that still compete with todays models.

Weseixas what amps do you feel are hi end and which are not in your experience?Is the 2 ohm load spec you mention your current speaker load?

No I do not;my cd player and pre/processor have standby switches as well as my tubed amps but they stay powered offunless I plan to listen then they are put in standby mode and left there until listening is done.
