An audiophile in Chicago .....
Oh yeah, Kumas is incredible. Every burger is named after a metal band. So you have to balance your love for the burger ingredients and love for the band. FWIW I love High on Fire, Lair of the Minotaur and Pantera.
Audience XLR interconnects not working
Call Audience. Their customer support is fantastic.
Debating between Hybrid and Tube Integrated Amp
If you have things narrowed down to 2 options, is auditioning not a possibility? If you don't have a local dealer, I think Audio Advisor sells Vincent gear, and they have a decent return policy. Not sure about Primaluna, though Upscale Audio might...
An audiophile in Chicago .....
For records, I second the recommendation of Dusty Groove and Reckless. Dusty is better for soul, R&B, jazz and blues. Reckless will have more rock, indie, punk, metal, and recent stuff. The Milwaukee Ave Reckless is pretty close to Dusty Groov...
Vapor Audio - Dagogo- Nimbus White speaker review
As someone who has now heard both the Nimbus Black and the White, I can report that they both sound fabulous. Not having them side-by-side and listening to them over a month apart, I cannot give much account of the differences. I can say that I wa...
KEF LS50
How big is the room? What kind of volumes are we looking at? At first blush, I think 50W might be a bit low for these monitors.
Best beer
Yeah, Hopslam is in a different league than 2 Hearted. But it is certainly getting harder to find. For other beers in that neighborhood, look for Sixpoint Hi-Res or Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree.

What turntable next?
I am a huge fan of my Townshend Rock 7, which I have paired with a Moerch DP-8 arm. Great stuff. Robert Greene's reviews capture the sound of these nicely.
Speakers First?
While I very much appreciate John and Charles thoughtful input in their posts on this forum, consider this another vote in the speaker camp. Not that amp speaker synergy shouldn't be a consideration, and the appeal of the SET sound they love is co...
Linn Basik LVX vs. Rega RB 303
You might also want to consider a modded Rega. I really liked the Audiomods arm that replaced my Rega 301. Extensively modified. You can get a modded arm, or a kit to mod it yourself. Or get the Rega now, then buy an upgrade kit or have it upgrade...
Vinyl ratings for audiophiles
Steve Hoffman Forum is a superb resource on vinyl pressings. The community there is very knowledgeable and can speak to how well recorded an LP is, as well as which versions to seek out and, just as important, which to avoid (a tip: Learn to spot ...
Origin live encounter/illustrious vs Morch UP-4?
You may also be able to get a good trade-in deal on the UP-4 if you upgrade to a DP-6 with Mehran at Sorasound.
PS Audio Humbuster 3 or equivalent wanted
Van Alstine sells something like this. For less than the PS Audio's price. Think it is called something like Humdinger.
ZYX R100 Yatra
Note that Jack Roberts' review is of the gold, which I would think will lead to the softest, least exciting sound. Most folks seem to prefer the Silver or Copper 4Ds IIRC.
