Tara Master Gen II XLR Interconnects
My pair is the same. There is a serial number on one of the shrink wrap but nothing with "Tara" on it.
Marantz SA-1 SACD player....worth it ?
I got a demo of the SA1 yesterday and was very disapointed with its CD performance. However, the SACD was pretty good. The demo system consisted of N801, Krell FPB200 amp and KCT preamp. The CD sound was just way too warm and it lacked detail and ...
Poping sounds with Digital Lens
Try changing the dithering modes. I don't remember which but either the D1 or D2 mode may cause the problem you are having.
Amps and Women
This morning my wife and I took a drive to the ocean side and she insisted that I take my car. So I asked why and she said it has a better stereo system. I was surprised that was able to hear the difference. I had installed a pretty nice system in...
PS Audio PP600?
The amp will draw more currrent as you play louder so the wattage will increase but the P600 should be able to handle up reasonable volume. Turning on the amp will draw the most current for a few milliseconds. If the P600 can handle this, you shou...

Anyone heard Revel Studio's?
I auditioned the Studios with Spectral and Wadia equipment and it was good enough that I bought the Studios. I had compared the Studios to N802, Mezzo Utopia, dynaudio 3.3, Martin Logan Prodigy reQuest, Prodigy and Wilson. I would have prefereed t...
Help! Power supply woes
John, How did you determine that it was the transformer? If the transformer is properly fused, it's pretty rare for the transformer to open. My dad's preamp that I fixed a couple of weeks ago had a bad bridge rectifier. I hope is something else in...
Bad Transformer?
I kind of doubt is the transformer. Since the amp is pretty old, my guess is the power supply is failing. The capacitors may be drying out and retain much charge anymore. If you replace the caps, I would also consider replacing the rectifiers. The...
