Dipole/bipole or direct radiating
Muralman1, do you have Apogee in a multichannel setup? I would love to hear something like that. I have Vmps all around in my multichannel system but have a pair of Apogee Centaur Minors in my two channel system. I'll bet an all Apogee system with...
Why is there so much Rowland gear for sale?
3chihuahuas, well said
using a carver shg modelc9
I would think you could insert it between the amp and pre if you have jumpers. I guess the problem with that would be that it would always be active as with tape loops you could turn it off and on.
Info needed on ADS L1530 speakers.
I listened to the model 2030 years ago but did not listen to the 1530, very nice looking speakers and the best ADS speaker system I have ever listened to. The 1530 and 2030 were ADS statement to the world type of speaker to let everyone hear what ...
Why is there so much Rowland gear for sale?
3chihuahuas, all the Roland guys and gals are lucky thats all he said. If the post would have been Krell (which I own) people would be crawling out of the woodwork to tell us how brite our amps sound. Heck, this mite even do it. I wish I had a dol...
What DAC's have a USB input?
Sorry I can't give you a list, but yes there are some high end usb dacs. There has been a few threads which listed a few of them. If you do a search of past threads you should find a few names. Hope this helps
What DAC's have a USB input?
All USB dac's have usb inputs, they are used as a way to take sound from your computer hard drive without use of the computers soundcard. A lot of computers have very poor soundcards so people use usb dacs. Is this what you were asking about?
Dipole/bipole or direct radiating
If you have a big room and your speakers don't have to be right on top of you then I would use direct radiating speakers as they will work for movie and music surround. Dipoles are a poor choice for music surround unless you have to put your rears...
A to D to SACD to A: A Natural Progression?
Yes, take all the cd's that you only like one or two songs on and put them on your hard drive as wave files. Then you won't have to keep jumping up to change them every time songs come on that you don't like (which is a lot if you only like one or...
I am currently looking to buy a multi amp
I don't know what would be best for the money but I have a krell kav-500 in my system. They are great sounding amps for two channel as well as multichannel. 100 watts at 8 ohms and 200 watts at 4 ohms. I think all of those amps would be fine thoug...
speaker recommendation
There are two sets of Apogee Centaur Minors for sale used here on audiogon tha would sound great with your hybrid Jolida, they are also hybrid's, Ribbons for mids and highs. I have a set and 50 watts is plenty of power in all but large rooms. One ...
New Police remasters/SACD....
I just checked, there are seven albums out on sacd.
VMPS RM40 better than Dunlavy IVa?
As Sean said, both speakers will give you deep bottom end but will sound very different. I have a set of hybrid/ribbon speakers, not vmps (Apogee) and the sound from ribbon mid-highs would sound very different than the Dunlavy's.
