HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
Totally agree with s1mn3r:And to the person who says that the buyer must do his own research, I agree also - but to a certain limit. Not everyone is as hard-core about their audio, and the simple labeling of "Norway" or "Austria" may be just enough...
HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
Aolmrd1241: Yes, the Venere line from Sonus Faber, I know all about their products.I just sold my Domus Grand Piano to a nice guy who was eyeing the entry level Venere brand new - had been wanting to purchase a Sonus speaker for years...it was a n...
HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
Gentlemen, if you audition a amp and you like the sound, build, and you like the price, and country of origin is not important, it's ok.But if part of your creteria include other factors that are more intangibles, that's ok too.Bryston, Classe and...
HEGEL - Is it really made in Norway ?
My initial point was not to suggest China-built or assembled gear is not good stuff, I owned many units in the past from Cayin, Shanling, and currentle am enjoying my Oppo 105 very much.It is about 2 things mainly:A) That there are are always folk...

Power supply for Cambridge Audio Azur 651P phono ?
I contacted Audio Advisor and was told they could not get more of them from the manufacturer...I doubt this is the truth.
Marantz TT-15 turntable: Speed control compatible?
Thank you for your suggestion. After a bit of research, there seems to be incompatibility issues concerning the diameter of the pulley (whether a table's belt must be left on the smaller or larger diameter 33 or 45 rpm) which may stress the speed ...
Quick poll: Rega RP6 or Marantz TT-15 ?
Marantz TT-15 in my system. Thank you for your input. A very nice table, arm and cartridge. I couldn't ask for more at the price. Lovely looks and sound, and surprisingly quiet too. A great package overall, no regrets, just music!
Quick poll: Rega RP6 or Marantz TT-15 ?
Ended-up getting the "Marantz Acrylic Spectacular"!Very, very nice. Sounds great so far, no issues. It occurred to me that I could make it a bit more of the eye candy it already is by using some inexpensive LED lighthing to shine through the light-...
Pathos logos strong enough to drive winds?
This thread was about power and getting the best out of the speakers. How about how the amp SOUNDS and how it can convey the soul of music? In my humble opinion, The Pathos Logos is above everything other amp mentionned here by far. Class A tube p...
Quick poll: Rega RP6 or Marantz TT-15 ?
Well, since I cannot audition the Marrantz TT-15, and after some time researching it, I am inclined to take the plunge and just buy one for the following reasons:1) The Clearaudio Satisfy tonearm is also used with some pretty expensive and well-re...
Octave vs Ayon integrateds
I am a past owner of the Ayon Orion II. It is a beautifull-looking amp but ultimately not very well put together and the protective housing over the transformers are not solidly attached. I also went through 3 remotes - not a big great deal but th...
Brand Longevity
A large number of ''audiophiles'' are flavour-of-the-month, gotta-to-have-the-latest-toy types. The longevity of brands is a non-issue when you only keep the gear for a short time.
Why does your turntable sound the way it does.
After two glasses of wine, I find that my turntable and in fact my whole system to sound noticeably better ;)
