Audio Desk Record Cleaner-Anyone buy one yet
Gpgr4blu, I have one problem with the AD Vinyl Cleaner. I am out of Texas for typically three months during the heat of the summer and leave the Vinyl Cleaner behind. I have been concerned with evaporation. The Cable Company suggested draining the...
Well Tempered Amadeus turntable, giant killer?
Drubin, I own a Bergman Sindre which has been excellent. I bought it long before I knew of the Amadeus. I have heard the Amadeus several times under very good circumstances and have been amazed with it. Now I have learned of a fanatical audio frie...
Audio Desk Record Cleaner-Anyone buy one yet
Gpgr4blu, as I said, I tried the water rinse and heard no benefit. I also used a USB microscope and could see no residue.

Peterayer, the proof is in the pudding. I imagine many would be put off were your dentist to twice use the cleaning fluid and put the cleaned item back in their mouths. You seem intent on longer treatments. I had been doing that with the four step ...

Syntax, do you use the Hannl VI3c in the Vinyl Cleaner or can you?Dougdeacon, I would put the emphasis on convenience but add excellent cleaning.
Audio Desk Record Cleaner-Anyone buy one yet
Syntax, the AD Vinyl Cleaner has a white filter very visible from above. I clean it out about every 100 records and have never seen anything resembling your mess. I have bought many old classics and cleaned them without this mess either, but I hav...
An SACD question
I find the SHM cds universally superior.
Audio Desk Record Cleaner-Anyone buy one yet
Dougdeacon, you really need the AD Vinyl cleaner in a quiet room apart from your listening area. All you need to do is insert it and start it and go listen to your music. Go back when you want and insert another record, push the button, and return...

Syntax, like Sonofjim, I don't agree with many of your opinions. I got a Vinyl Cleaner about two years ago and directly compared it with my special VPI with a Delgrin tube with the Walker Prelude four step cleaning solutions. I played VPI cleaned ...
Is a vinyl rig only worth it for oldies?
Were vinyl not such a pain, I would only play vinyl, especially 45 rpm reissues. And it is not as though I have an inferior digital playback system. I have the Empirical Audio music server and even now have dsd sacds on my system as well as HD dow...
An SACD question
I own about 500 sacds and now have some on my music server in dsd. Getting this is a rather cumbersome process but is wonderful. It is like hearing master tapes. It also takes lots of space. I have a two Tb raid system, so this is no real problem....
Fuses that matter.
Hifitime, I fondly remember a time in Tallahassee when there were other audiophiles around and we went to listen to their systems when they had new products. In LA there were more and more formal meetings and dealers who would have such meetings. ...
Fuses that matter.
Hifitime, "If" is the operative word. Don't assume that people need to see the fuses, etc. I knew a guy who considered himself an audiophile who had his system of all renown manufacturers. I went by once and he showed me the system but did not tur...
Fuses that matter.
Pack, I have tried magnets in place of fuse and even silver wire. I will say that there is a different sound, but I felt unsafe.
Insanely Expensive....and Worth Every Penny
Audiofun, I bought two Halcyonic Micro 4s. Each made a major improvement in my sound, but I could not buy more because of their expense. Later I got a StillPoints Rack and two Component stands. With everything on StillPoints, my sound was much bet...
