| McIntosh Guy Going Tubes? (Maybe?) I had an MC275 VI with a C1100 and found the match really wonderful. The C1100 is dead quiet and cast a wonderful soundstage. If you have the budget, don't need the built-in DAC and have space for a two box setup, I highly recommend an audition. | |
| New KEF Reference 5 speakers I started with an MC275 (90 wpc) with my Reference 5s and the sound was good. Very smooth with nice mids and smooth highs. Not the best resolution, but cast a fairly good sound stage.I moved to Electrocompaniet Nemo monoblocks and the Reference ... | |
| Amps for KEF Blade 2 KEF uses Electrocompaniet Nemo monoblocks to drive the Blades in their factory museum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQBOMv4LY2EThey might know a little something about driving them.... | |
| New KEF Reference 5 speakers I love my Reference 5s. Your patience will pay off and you will be rewarded with the soundstage and imaging you experienced in your demo once you dial them in. You did not say what components you are using, but they do love an abundance of quali... | |
| VPI TNT Mk 3 – Looking for a tonearm and cartridge I have a TNT Mk 2 with a Graham 1.5 tonearm and Kiseki Purpleheart cartridge running through an Allnic H-3000/HA-3000 combo. Graham tonearms are a great match with the TNT and the Kiseki replaced a Dynavector XX-2 and could not be happier. | |
| Racks - what’s awesome without impacting my kids college plans? Try to find a nice used Billy Bags rack. Very well built and can find them at reasonable prices. | |
| What is an excellent power cable? I've had great results from Clarus Crimson HC power cords for my amps and Kimber PK-14 Palladian for the other components. | |

| Speaker recomendation @audiotroy "No problem we sell some of the best a/v products on the market and have tested and sold more brands of a/v products than many, so we don’t have to worry about saving you from yourself."I don't even know what that means. We are very m... | |
| Speaker recomendation "Soix, way too many people have over inflated opinions of products that are mearly okay, that they for whatever reason they personally love."Wow, just wow. And that's just one of the misguided attempts to "justify" his postings. @audiotroy, I app... | |
| Does anyone leave their amp and preamp on all the time? My mono blocks consume 230W each in standby mode, so I turn them off after use. I will turn them on a bit before I plan on listening to warm up and usually by the end of the first side of an LP it sounds just fine. | |
| thread for PMC owners The neutrality is my favorite aspect of the fact.8. It presents exactly what it's fed and just disappears behind a nicely projected sound stage. I'm partial to the British sound, though, as some big KEFs sit in my main system. | |
| thread for PMC owners I have fact.8s in my bedroom system and they are really nice. They are not the last word in bass response, but they go deep enough for my needs and, as shadorne says, mids and highs are great. | |
| I like Steve Guttenberg. He was awesome in "Three Men And A Baby" | |
| Allnic H-3000 hum when mute button engaged. To answer your question regarding tubes, all of the stock tubes in the Allnic are NOS except the rectifier. You already have a NOS RCA but other rectifiers that Albert suggested are Tung Sol, Valvo, Mullard, and Cossor. Mullard will be warmer wh... |
