Racquetball isolation platform perfection
Oh ... my ... lord. Have you ever crapped all over my well intentioned thread with your eggshell egos and childish need to get the last word in. Regardless, I have now placed the same isolation under my 70lb integrated, and have heard even more go...
Moving from PSB Stratus to Synchrony ... questions
Guys ... I can not thank you enough for your advice here. This is exactly what I was fishing for. They are getting raves in the glossy mags, but I always suspect magazine reviews. I'm shocked to think Paul Barton may have made a step backwards aft...
Making bi-polars out of bookshelf speakers ?
Thanks Markphd ... I should have added a little more information. I've built MANY speakers over many years, and understand all of the variables involved... I've just never built a bi-polar speaker before and was wondering if there was anything I m...
Is anyone using sand boxes under their speakers ?
Thanks for the responses. I'm going to go ahead and make some sand boxes and see just what happens. I'll report back in this thread in a week or so. I've never read a single negative thing about Brightstar Audio's products, so I can't really imagi...

Arcam AVR350 vs B&K 507
The b&k will haue more dynamics. Arcam power sounds laid back to me. B&k excels at making receivers sound like separates to my ears.
Best isolation under a big receiver ?
Receiver weighs 60 lbs, and my cables are already off the floor. I am a little leery of hardwood slabs due to reports of dynamics being killed.
Big AV Receivers : Digital or Analogue ?
Thank for your repsones guys. To give you just one example : When making up VH Audio's Flavor power cords, you must select which Flavor to make up dependingh on wether the cord is intended for a digital or analogue piece of gear ;-)
DIY interconnects ... found MUCH success
Gregm : They are not twisted at all, just laying side by side in parallel touching each other, with the cotton sleeve keeping them tightly together.
DIY interconnects ... found MUCH success
76doublebass : I did indeed use the solid core Cardas from Michael Percy Audio, as well as the solid core 30 ga from him.
DIY interconnects ... found MUCH success
Hi Bombaywalla ... The cotton weave is not overly stiff, but once you get both positive and negative conductors through it, both sides folded over on themselves, and a couple of small beads of hot glue to hold down the folded sides, it is then ple...
DIY interconnects ... found MUCH success
Forgot to say .... The photos in my link show my earlier efforts using Tara Labs conductors. I ended up doing the same thing with silver in cotton sleeves.
DIY interconnects ... found MUCH success
The cotton material has purchased at a fabric store. I simply attached the conductors encased in cotton sleeves to the white strings running through the material via a tiny drop of super glue, and pulled the conductors through. Then folded the cot...
DIY interconnects ... found MUCH success
OK : I'll try this, but am not sure it will work. Here is a link to pics of some of my DIY projects on Photobucket.http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v112/SRTBlue/aud/
DIY interconnects ... found MUCH success
Thanks for your comments, all of you. I don't have a lot of time, but will try and answer some questions. First, the conductors. I indeed tried the Jupiter wires that are wrapped in cotton, but found them inferior to the wire I ended up using, whi...
