Help Me Justify Recent MMF7 purchase
I found the Goldring to be etched and tizzy. It hurt my ears. Now, if you don't have the same issues with it, then you should probably skip the rest of this post.I owned a Benz Micro Ace medium output cartridge that I thought was excellent, and th...
Zu Presence vs. Devore Nines
It doesn't matter what anyone else prefers.9/10 people may prefer speaker A. You might be the only one who prefers speaker B. Does that make your preference wrong? Of course not.Listen to both if you can...but you already know this.
KAB 1200 vs. everything else.
12-26-08: PiedpiperOf course the Dyna will better the AT. The question is whether the $ spent on the Dyna would have been "better" spent on a better table. The answer to that "theoretical" question is yes.Fair enough. This question will be valuabl...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
So, Rebbi, are you any closer to eliminating one pair of speakers, or are you now a permanent owner of two pairs?
T.H.E. Show admission
The one time I went to T.H.E Show in 2006, my ID was requested at the registration desk (as was the ID of the other two gentlemen with me). I showed my CES registration.

You cannot hear the XXIIs strengths on the Technics. Pauly (Reviews | Threads | Answers)I'm sure this is true. However, it performs better on the Technics than any of the other carts I have used, and this was my goal: to maximize the Technics rig,...
Zu Presence vs. Devore Nines
There's a Devore dealer in San Francisco. Not far from Salt Lake by air.
Zu Presence vs. Devore Nines
I see. Too bad the home audition doesn't apply.Maybe it's worth getting on a plane to hear these two speakers? Although, you won't know how they sound with your amp unless you ship it ahead.
Zu Presence vs. Devore Nines
Do Zu speakers still come with the generous home trial period? If so, this alone is reason to begin with the Zu speakers. You'll know if they're for you.
KAB 1200 vs. everything else.
Pauly, I mentioned twice before in this thread that I have used an AT150Mlx in my analog rig. You wouldn't consider the $250 AT150Mlx "over carting" the Technics, would you? The Dynavector XX sounds better than the AT150Mlx, so I use the Dynavecto...
T.H.E. Show admission
Sure you can. Get some business cards printed that say your the president of ABC Audio, and show the card at the registrations desk. You're in.Have fun.

...then what about all those records that have not made it to CD? That might be the only drawback to dumping the analog front end..Gadfly (Reviews | Threads | Answers)I don't have any of those, nor do I intend to buy any, so it's not a concern. Ho...
How make my Ayre system "warmer"?
Vandersteen with Ayre ia a classic combination. It may or may not be what you seek, Tje, but this is where I'd recommend beginning your search.Find speakers with a warm sound you enjoy. Then, build your system around the speakers. Anything else is...
Integrated changes input selection by itself
Well, here's another idea. Please understand I don't know how the remote sensing feature works on the MF gear, but if there's a sensor window cover it. If eliminating the remote quotient doesn't address the problem, and if you've already powered t...
Does good technology guarantees musicality?
Hmmm...I think we are saying the same thing. I have the APL with 32 bit DACs and just recently received it back from APL with a new laser assembly. The Music Hall CD25.2 still sounds best into the APL DAC (which I believe sounds excellent).
