I cannot grasp why audiophiles have a need to constantly goad, snipe and criticize each other for choices they make.
Buying used vs. New
08-25-08: GoatwussThere are many landfalls with used... shady sellers, misrepresented, don't like the product (no audition)I've been buying and selling on Audiogon for almost six years with almost 250 transactions. Only two have been questionable....
One speaker louder
If the quiet and less open speaker follows the swap, then the problem is the speaker, and not placement, equipment or source material. If the swap results in the same channel sounding quiet and less open, then the issue is with something other than...
One speaker louder

Should repaired equipment be stated in the ad??
IMO, if repair record is important to you as a buyer, you should ask, and not expect it to be disclosed in the ad; and if you're a seller and are asked about the repair record, A'gon's etiquette policy should oblige you to answer honestly, accurat...

Pass Labs Power Cord
I installed Cardas Golden Reference power cords on my Pass Labs XA-60.5 amps this week, and they are a subtle, but worthwhile improvement over the stock cords. The differences with the Cardas cords installed are: less grain, lower noise floor, more...
